Checking the oil level and replace engine
Engine oil level should be checked approximately every 600 kilometers, but not less than once a week. The car must be installed on a level surface and warm up the engine. To control remove the dipstick and wipe it with a clean cloth. Re-insert the dipstick and pull it out again. On the dipstick applied two labels to indicate the oil level. The level should be between labels. If the oil level is at the lower mark, the oil must be topped up. The amount of oil trapped between the two marks is about 1.0 liters, based on this, you can determine how much oil is not enough. Under no circumstances should there be overflow of oil, ie the oil level should not be above the upper mark (may be damaged in the first catalytic converter). According to the instructions the Volkswagen oil must comply with its standard 500 00 or 501 01. After every 15,000 km or at least once a year, the engine oil and oil filter should be replaced. These maintenance intervals apply to normal operation of the vehicle. Oil change intervals should be reduced if the car is often used with a trailer, in a very dusty, a short distance (for example, at a distance of less than 7-8 km), when the air temperature is below zero, or with frequent stops in traffic jams, due to than the engine has to work a long time idling. To drain the oil should be installed front of the vehicle on a support or trestle. Remove the drain plug from the oil pan. To speed up the drainage of the oil you must remove the cap of the filling hole. Engine oil should be warm, but not hot. After the end of the oil drain plug to clean the drain hole and screw it again. Fill with fresh engine oil through the oil filler neck to check oil level dipstick the oil level, if necessary, to bring to normal.
