Adjustment of idling and the maintenance WITH

As already mentioned, the service center Volkswagen use special devices to check. However, you can check the adjustment of idling and the maintenance WITH yourself using a tachometer and the instrument for the measurement of CO. The instrument references, using a corresponding compound in the exhaust pipe, and connect the tachometer according to the instructions. Pre must meet the following conditions:

- Warm up the engine to operating temperature. All consumers of electric current must be switched off. During the monitoring the fan must not run;

- Exhaust system should not have gaps;

- The ignition timing must match required. It can be checked and if necessary corrected, as described in Section. 7.4. These values apply to all engines with system of injection Mono-Motronic;

- Connect the tachometer and a device for measuring the content of CO in accordance with the instructions;

- Start up the engine and let it run for a while at idle. After stabilization of the idle speed and tachometer readings to remove the device, which measures the CO content. If the idling speed of 750- 850 min-1 and CO is equal to 0.2-1.0%, then carry out another check is not required. Please note that a defective lambda sensor may show inaccurate values and the CO content. If the frequency of rotation idling or the maintenance WITH are not within these limits, you must apply to the car repair shop to check your electronic devices.
