Installing the crankshaft

Install crankshaft spend in the following order:
- Wipe the blind holes in the sockets of the cylinder and put Lubricate bearing shells with grooves for lubrication so that the projections included in the inserts blind holes;
- Insert into the slot average radical bearing persistent half rings;

A warning
Thrust half-ring grooves should be directed to the surface friction of the crankshaft;

- Place the bearing shells in the crankshaft. If the rods are in the cylinder block, install the connecting rod bearings on the crank pins;
- Attach the lower liners (without oil grooves) in the respective main bearing caps (protrusions in the recesses) and abundantly lubricate the surface of engine oil;
- Lubricate with engine oil and install the pads out the other two resistant rings on the bearing cap. Lubricating grooves have to be arranged against the crankshaft;
- Install the crankshaft bearing caps and their lightly Tap the rubber or plastic hammer;
- In several stages, tighten bolts of covers of bearings, starting from the middle and out, torque 65 Nm, then tighten each bolt a further half turn;
- Rotate the crankshaft several times to make sure that it rotates easily and without jamming;
- Check the free running of the centerline of the crankshaft (see. P. 3.6.1);
- Establish pistons and rods (see. P. 3.4.6);
- Set the front and rear crankshaft oil (para. 3.6.4);

A warning
Front and rear crankshaft oil should be changed after each removal of the crankshaft seals or holders.

- Install the crankshaft pulley;
- Set the timing belt (see. P. 3.7.1) and the protective cover of the belt;
- Install the flywheel and tighten the screws tightening torque of 60 Nm, then tighten each bolt another 90 ?;
- A car with automatic transmission (automatic transmission), set the drive pulley of the torque converter. With his installation tighten the screws tightening torque of 60 Nm and then tighten them even to 90 ? (see. P. 3.6.6);
- Install the oil pump (see. P. 4.2.2);
- Set the engine sump gasket, planted on the sealant, and tighten the screws tightening torque 20 Nm;
- All further work was carried out in the reverse order to dismantling.
