Resistance measurement

Resistance measurement

Before testing resistance necessary to make sure that the items, which is connected to an ohmmeter, there is no tension. Always disconnect the plugs so, turn off the ignition, remove the wiring or the device, disconnect the battery. Otherwise, the meter is damaged.

Ohmmeter connected to two terminals of the consumer, or both ends of the electric wires. At the same polarity (?) does not matter.

Measurement of resistance in the car is carried out in two cases:

- Control of resistance or parts installed in the chain;
- "Conductivity" conductor sensor or coil. This checks for an open circuit, because of which it is in unit can not be operated. To measure ohmmeter connected to both ends of the conductor. If resistance is 0 ohms, "conductivity" is. This means that the wiring is OK. At breakage in the conductor meter indicates infinity.
