Check lateral runout pulse wheels

The beating pulse of the wheels may be caused by backlash of wheel hubs for bearing wear. Therefore, if you suspect a heartbeat pulse wheel, first check the hub bearing play and, if necessary, replace bearings. Then you need to remove the wheel sensor (see. Div. "Replacement of the anti-lock brake system"), to examine the momentum wheel, slowly rotating floor, on the presence of radial and lateral run-out. If you have a heartbeat pulse wheel press them all the way on the floor. Again, check for the presence of a pulse wheel runout. If heartbeat continues, replace the momentum wheel and (or) shaft.

Measurement of radial run-out of the front wheel pulse
Fig. 6.25. Measurement of radial run-out of the front wheel pulse 1 - LED 999-6984

To measure the radial run set holder with indicator and measuring tip length of 100 mm (Fig. 6.25), set the measuring tip on the pulse wheel. If the runout exceeds 0.15 mm for the front wheels and 0.13 mm for the rear, the momentum wheel needs to be replaced and the floor - in check.
