Checking the oil level in an automatic transmission



Prerequisites for checking the level of oil in an automatic: a flat surface, engaged the parking brake, the motor runs continuously and the select lever in position R.
Checking the oil level in an automatic wire as follows:
- Setting the select lever to a different position, hold it in each position for about 3 seconds;

NOTE
In this operation, hold the brake pedal is pressed.

- Return the select lever position P and wait about 3 minutes to re-check the level;
- Remove the dipstick and wipe the dipstick with a cloth, lint;
- Insert the dipstick fully into the oil fill tube;
- Take out the dipstick again.

If the oil level is below normal replenish its level.

NOTE
When pouring the oil, take into account the temperature, see. Graph in Fig. 2.50

NOTE
The difference in volume between the MIN and MAX marks is 0.5 liter. The temperature of the oil in the gearbox can be checked with the help of Volvo System Tester. At room temperature (20 ?� C) oil only concerns the probe. "Cold band" (COLD) (40 ?� C) is achieved in the room service station after about 5 minutes of continuous operation and a "hot band" (HOT) (80 ?� C) after driving for about 30 minutes at a temperature of> 15 ?� FROM.
