Component testing of an automatic transmission (F4A42)

Check the throttle position sensor

Throttle Position Sensor - a variable resistor with the rotary axis of the throttle and transmits the information based on which the ECM determines when the throttle is closed, fully open or in intermediate positions.

The sensor is rigidly connected to the throttle shaft. Depending on the throttle position sensor resistance changes.

Check the oil temperature sensor

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Remove the oil temperature sensor.
  1. Measure the resistance between terminals "1" and "2" oil temperature sensor connector. Resistance:
    16,7-20,5 kW at 0 ? C, 0,57-0,69 kW at 100 ? C.

Check the vehicle speed sensor

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Remove the vehicle speed sensor and connect the resistance of 3-10 ohms, as shown in the figure.
  1. Turn the shaft of the vehicle speed sensor and check that there is voltage between terminals "2" and "3" (1 turn = 4 pulses).

Check relays A / T

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Remove the control relay A / T.
  2. Jumpers connect the terminal "2" Relay A / T control with a negative (-) terminal of the battery and the terminal "4" relays with positive () terminal of the battery.
  3. Check for continuity between terminal "1" and terminal "3" control relay A / T, when the jumpers are connected and disconnected from the battery.
When connecting the jumper between terminals relay must be conductivity.
When you disconnect the jumper between terminals relay should not be conductivity.
  1. If the test results are negative, replace the relay.

Check solenoid valve

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Remove the cover of the valve body.
  1. Disconnect from each solenoid valve.
  1. Measure the resistance between terminals "1" and "2" of each solenoid valve.

Resistance:

Damper clutch solenoid valve: 2.7-3.4 ohms at 20 ? C
Solenoid valve is a low transmission and reverse gear: 2.7-3.4 ohms at 20 ? C
Solenoid valves of the second transmission: 2.7-3.4 ohms at 20 ? C
Solenoid valve downshift: 2.7-3.4 ohms at 20 ? C
Solenoid valve overdrive: 2.7-3.4 ohms at 20 ? C

  1. If the resistance of the valve is different, replace the solenoid valve.

Resistance solenoidal valves check connecting an ohmmeter to the connector contacts.
