Lubrication system

Device features
Lubrication system combined: spraying under pressure. Under pressure lubricated main and connecting rod bearings, camshaft bearings. The system consists of the oil sump, gear oil pump suction tubes, full-flow oil filter, oil pressure and oil valves.
The oil pump draws oil from the sump and feeds it to the oil filter. On the discharge side of the oil pump relief valve is located. At too high an oil pressure valve opens and part of the oil flows back into the sump.
Through the middle of the oil filter cartridge clean oil enters the main oil highway. When blockage of the filter bypass valve is located in the oil filter housing, provides Unfiltered oil directly into the main oil highway. The pipe of the oil filter is a check valve that prevents the devastation of oil channels and hydraulic valve lifters engine. From the main oil line depart channels for lubrication of the bearings of the crankshaft. Through inclined holes in the crankshaft oil is supplied to the connecting rod bearings, and then sprayed onto the piston pins and cylinders. Simultaneously uplink oil is fed into the cylinder head and lubricates the bearings of a camshaft and the work of the hydraulic tappets.

Oil consumption
Speaking of oil consumption in the internal combustion engine, we mean only the amount that is consumed during combustion (waste consumption). In no case should not be confused oil flow from the oil losses due to leakage of the oil pan, cylinder head cover, and so forth. Standard Oil consumption arises from the combustion of a small number of cylinders, as well as the diversion of the combustion residues and wear particles. Oil aging under heat and pressure in the engine cylinders. On oil consumption have a big impact, and external factors such as driving style, as well as precision manufacturing of engine parts.
The maximum permissible oil consumption during operation may be 1 liters per 1000 km.
Upon reaching the mark ?MIN? necessarily have to add oil (add oil volume should not exceed 1 liter).

The choice of oil for the engine lubrication
For the lubrication of engines used Hyundai cars multigrade oil. It can be used both in winter and in summer. The basis of multigrade oils are liquid seasonal oil (eg, viscosity grade 15W). Due to the so-called thickening oil stabilizes hot, so for each state are provided with the necessary lubricity. The letter ?W? SAE classification indicates that the oil can be used in winter.
Flush oils are multigrade oils with anti-friction additives in their use can fuel economy up to 2%. Flush oils have low viscosity (for example, 10W-30). They require an ad hoc basis (synthetic oil).
The recommended grade of oil quality API - not lower SG or SH.
The recommended viscosity grade of SAE - depending on the expected ambient temperature until the next oil change.

Checking the oil level
Place the vehicle on level ground.
Start up the engine and warm up.

NOTE
After prolonged shutdown of the car warm up the engine for about 20 minutes.

Stop the engine, wait 2-3 minutes and check the oil level.
The oil level should be between the dipstick. By reducing the level below a label ?L? add oil to the mark ?F?.
Make sure that the oil is pure, free of impurities coolant or gasoline and has a desired viscosity.

A WARNING
On vehicles equipped with engines with a catalytic converter, it must be ensured that the oil level on the dipstick oil level was not higher than the maximum. If the car with a catalytic converter is filled with too much oil, it is necessary to remove the excess from the crankcase through the suction or discharge (special vacuum pump), otherwise unburnt oil will penetrate into the exhaust system and can destroy the catalytic converter.

Replacing the engine oil
Start up the engine and warm up to normal operating temperature.
Stop the engine.

Oil drain plug in the oil pan (indicated by arrow)
Fig. 2.127. Oil drain plug in the oil pan (indicated by arrow)

Remove the oil filler cap, unscrew the oil drain plug (sump), as shown in Fig. 2.127, and drain the oil from the engine.
Screw the plug and tighten it to a torque of 35-45 Nm.
Fill the engine with fresh oil through the filler neck.
Install the oil filler cap.
Start up the engine and let it run.
Stop the engine, check the oil level and if necessary, restore it back to normal.
Engine oil capacity, l:
working volume of 1.1 liters:
2.8 (without oil filter change);
3.1 (replacing the oil filter)
working volume of 1.3; 1.5 and 1.6 liters:
3.0 (without oil filter change);
3.3 (replacing the oil filter)

Changing the oil filter
All Hyundai engine equipped with removable oil filters of high quality, which is recommended to replace all vehicles. Commercially available filters vary in quality. To ensure efficient service should be used only high-quality filters. Before installing the new filter, remove the mating surface of the cylinder remains of the old filter rubber seal.
Remove the oil filter with a special key.
