Engine cooling system

All in this guide car models are equipped with a pressurized cooling system with thermostatically controlled circulation of the coolant. Rotary water pump mounted on the front of the unit pumps the coolant through the engine. Coolant flow washes each of the cylinders, and moves to the rear of the engine. Formed in the molding unit and the head (s) cylinder water cooler gallery provide distribution and supply it to the exhaust ports to the areas installation of spark plugs and location guides the exhaust valves. The cooling system of the 6-cylinder engine uses a water pump reverse type (with a rotation in the opposite direction).

Typical circulation of coolant in the cooling system of the V8 engine

Typical circulating coolant in the cooling system of the 6-cylinder type.

Thermostat voskozapolnennogo type placed in the case and secured in front of the engine. In the process of warming up the engine thermostat is closed and prevents the circulation of the coolant through the radiator. When approaching the temperature of the engine to the normal operating value of the thermostat opens, allowing passage of coolant through the radiator where it cools before returning to the engine.

Sealing is provided by the cooling system by installing a pressure-resistant cover for the radiator. The excess pressure in the system enhances the boiling point of the coolant and improves the efficiency of the system. When the pressure becomes too high, the pressure comes under its spring-loaded safety valve opening in the cover and any excess pressure is released into the atmosphere (installed on the expansion tank cap 6-cylinder engine of 4.0 liters), or the cooler flows through the connecting pipe in the expansion tank.

Expansion tank plays a double role. It is used as a capacitor, which if necessary is added to the fresh coolant and simultaneously ensures maintenance of the required level of liquid in the system working as a receiver for receiving expanding refrigerant when overheated. At 6-cylinder engine of 4.0 liters expansion tank is part of the path of a pressurized cooling system, through which is the circulation of the coolant during normal engine operation.

Heating System

The heating system consists of a fan and a heat exchanger disposed in the heater housing. The heat exchanger through the hose connected to the engine cooling system and heater control flap / air conditioning on the instrument panel in the car. Heated engine coolant is circulated through a heat exchanger. When the heating mode of heating the cabin of his air dampers are opened, providing a compound housing a heater inside the vehicle. With the switch on the control panel activates the heater fan that blows air through a heat exchanger in the interior of the vehicle, thereby heating it.

The air conditioning system

The air conditioning system consists of a set on the front of the radiator of the condenser, evaporator, located adjacent to the heat exchanger of a heater mounted on the compressor motor, the battery serving for accumulating liquid phase refrigerant output from the system of excess moisture, and the reinforcing lines interconnecting all the components listed above.

Fan runs the heated air from the car through the evaporator (working on the principle of inverse principle of the radiator), where it gives up its heat to the refrigerant within the evaporator located. The liquid refrigerant boils, turns into a gaseous phase (evaporate) and leaving the evaporator takes the heat with a phase transition.
