The system EVAP

A system for collecting fuel vapor prevents evaporation of fuel vapors into the atmosphere from the fuel tank, thereby preventing the formation of photochemical smog.

Fuel vapors accumulate in the canister with the activated carbon. When the engine electronic control module (PCM) opens the valve and the fuel vapor into the engine where there is their combustion.

A control valve is used to control the pressure of fuel vapors in the fuel tank.
