Checking and adjusting the brake pedal position

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Turn the stop lamp switch until the required gap between the switch and the brake pedal, then tighten the lock nut locking switch.

The gap (A) between the pedal and the brake light switch: 0.5-1.0 mm

2. With the engine switched off, press the brake pedal several times to remove any backlash in the system. Hand press the brake pedal before occurrence of notable resistance and measure a pedal free wheeling.

Free Lift (B) of the brake pedal: 3-8 mm

3. Start the engine and depress the brake pedal force of 500 N (50 kg) and measure the distance from the floor to the center cushion of the brake pedal.

  • The minimum distance (P) of the brake pedal from the floor: 75 mm
  • When the pedal is fully depressed, without the brake fluid: 35 mm
