Oil level indicator consists of the oil level sensor, which is mounted on the drain plug in the oil pan, and the warning lamp on the instrument panel. The indicator monitors the level of oil in the oil pan, since the oil temperature to + 60 ? C. As soon as the ignition is switched on, the control lamp lights up for the functional control and extinguished after the start of the motor.

The oil level in the oil pan is played using a float (358). At a low level of oil (in the lower level of the dipstick) using a magnet (359) in the float the reed switch opens. Due to the electronics in the communication panel receives a signal and turns the lamp.

If low oil level, depending on driving style, first warning lamp lights up briefly and then lights up constantly.

In order for different traffic situations, such as sharp bends, to avoid false alarms, an electronic circuit mounted in the delay line. It allows the control lamp lights up only after the alarm low oil level for 60 seconds.

To eliminate false indication when the engine is cold (thick oil is slowly poured into the oil sump) oil level sensor is equipped with a bimetallic snap disk (352). It prevents dry running of the float chamber drain plug (b) at low temperatures.

Bimetallic latching disc opens at about 60 ? C and closed at a temperature of about + 30 ? C.

When changing the oil float chamber is filled with oil through the vent hole (a). This eliminates the subsequent false indication. Oil level indicator installed in such a way that the test lamp illuminates just before reaching the level of "min" on the dipstick (safety reserve). This makes it possible to fill oil does not immediately, but at the earliest convenient case, for example, during refueling.
