Removal and installation of tie rod



Withdrawal

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Mark a paint position relative to the front wheel hub. This allows the assembly to establish balance the wheel in its former position. Loosen the wheel bolts before jacking the car. Lift the front of the car, put it on supports and remove the front wheel.

2. Remove the nut (1) of the inner tie rod. At the same time hold the tie rod from turning the hexagon (2).

3. Remove the caulking nut (3) tie rod ball joint (4) by holding against rotation pin of the hinge (5) socket wrench to hex. Fold the end of the thread to the nut, it serves as a support for the thread puller and protects from damage.
4. Remove the hinge of steering draft by a puller mounted on a swivel. Remove the nut.
5. Mark the position of the tie rod (6) with respect to the inside of a steering rod. To do this, apply a felt-tip pen strokes on the adjacent parts.
6. Remove the cap from the inner rod.

To ease assembly, count and record the number of revolutions.


Setting

PERFORMANCE ORDER

Screw cap 7 onto the inner tie rod in accordance with the recorded number of revolutions.
8 Set the tip of the inner steering draft in accordance with applied markings and tighten the lock nut torque 60Nm. At the same time hold the tip of the wrench flats. When tightening, take care not to twist the protective cover.
9 Clean the cone on the ball joint.
10 Install the joint on the steering knuckle and secure self-locking nuts torque 55nm.
11 Replace the front wheel so that coincided marks put at removal. Preliminary grease with a thin layer of bearing grease centering the belt drive wheel on the hub. Bolts do not grease the wheels. Rusty bolts replace. Tighten the screws. Lower the car on wheels and tighten bolts cross-wise the moment of 110 nm.
12 Check the front wheels to the service station, if necessary, adjust.
