Replacement Battery
Do not loosen or remove the battery cables with the engine running. Otherwise, it may be corrupted by electronic components (e.g., generator).
 | As a result of disconnecting the battery lost data in electronic memory units of the car, for example, data in the memory of malfunctions of the engine, the radio code, which protects it from being stolen or made in the memory of the radio program. To avoid losing stored data, you can connect an auxiliary power supply. Before disconnecting the battery, connect it to the cigarette lighter in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions. |
Withdrawal
| 1. Turn off all electrical consumers. Switch off the ignition. Thus excluded damage to the electronic control units.
2. Open the hood. The battery is located on the passenger side under the cabin air filter box.
Models with system TeleAid: To prevent discharge of the battery emergency power with the battery disconnected car phone should be placed in a mode THAT (separate "Instruction Manual phone").
3. Remove the air filter housing compartment, refer to Section Replacing the cabin air filter / charcoal filter air purification.
4. Disconnect the battery cables, first the negative and then the positive cable. | Before disconnecting the positive cable is necessary to remove the cover over the positive terminal.
After disconnecting the battery terminals a key in the ignition switch is not turned over, and the rocker AT remains locked in position "P". |
5. Remove the 2 nuts and remove the mounting plate at the bottom of the battery.
6. Remove the battery from the engine compartment. |

Setting
| 1. Before installing the Strip polished pole of the battery. For this purpose, suitable wire brush brass.
2. Replace the battery mounting plate at the base of the battery and secure.
3. Before connecting the battery, make sure that the ignition and all consumers have been switched off.
4. First connect the positive cable to the positive terminal (+) then the negative cable to the negative terminal (-) of the battery. | Improper connection of the battery can cause serious damage to the generator and other electrical devices. |
5. Apply a thin layer of petroleum jelly terminals and battery cables for corrosion protection. Do not lubricate them before connecting.
6. Put on the positive (+) cap.
7. Replace the cabin air filter box, refer to Section Replacing the cabin air filter / charcoal filter air purification.
8. After connecting the battery it is necessary to carry out the following work:
?� Setting the clock (Section multifunction steering wheel, universal display).
?� Re-adjustment of side windows (Section Windows, sunroof).
?� Re-adjustment of the panoramic sun roof / sun screen (Section Windows, sunroof).
?� Re-adjustment of ESP. To do this, the steering wheel with the engine running, turn from lock to lock.
?� Adjust the head restraint. |
