Service brake master cylinder (GTZ)

Refitting

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Cover the protective cover right front mudguard. Location GTZ and associated components in the engine compartment of the car shown in the accompanying illustration.
  1. Loosen the clamp and remove the electrical connector from the bottom of the reservoir of brake fluid.
  2. Disconnect the hydraulic hoses from the body GTZ. Zakuporte ends of the tubes and openings in the cylinder housing to prevent ingress of dirt into the hydraulic system and to minimize fluid loss.
  3. Give nuts GTZ, unclip the support bracket of the control valve of the vacuum amplifier and remove the master cylinder from the car.

Withdrawal

If you accidentally hit the brake fluid on the painted surfaces of the car body wash immediately with plenty of water and allow the surface to dry naturally - DO NOT wipe it with a cloth.

Setting

Installation is in the reverse order.

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Before installing GTZ fill the tank with clean brake fluid and repeatedly swing the piston cylinder so that the fluid is pushed through the holes beginning at the installation of brake tubes.
  2. All fixture tighten with demanded effort.
  3. Track reliability of fixing the wiring to the bottom of the tank.
  4. Finally, bleed the system.
  5. Make car trial runs. Checking serviceability of functioning of brakes.

Dismantling

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. After removing the GTZ drain the brake fluid reservoir it. GTZ components are shown in the accompanying illustration.
1 - cover
2 - strainer
3 - float
4 - reservoir
5 - restrictive cap
6 - the primary piston assembly
7 - secondary piston
8 - Spacer
9 - Spring
10 - Terminals
11 - grommets
12 - the case of the GTZ
  1. Gently prying, remove the tank from the rubber sealing bushing. Remove the lid of the tank and remove the strainer and float.
  2. Remove the body GTZ tank grommets and discard.
  3. Bend the locking tabs on the lid stopper out of the groove on the end of the housing GTZ, remove the stopper from the cylinder. If the locking tabs are damaged, replace the lid stopper.
  4. Remove the cylinder assembly of the primary and secondary piston spring return - remember their landing position.

If necessary, tap the end of GTZ wooden block for the release and subsequent extraction of the pistons.

Cleaning and checking the status of

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Rinse all components of the GTZ methyl alcohol.

Do not use for this purpose, gasoline, kerosene or other cleaning solvents.

  1. Check all fluid permeability channels.
  2. Check the mirror GTZ for signs of wear, and cavities. If necessary, replace the cylinder. Do not try to restore it through the cylinder bore honing.
  3. Check the return spring for cracks and weakening of the force that. Replace defective.
  4. If the cuff of the pistons will be replaced, remember the old mounting position (in both the pistons). Using a blunt tool, remove the collar and throw them away. If you intend to use a proprietary set for overhaul GTZ also discard the old pistons.

Where possible, make sure to use special branded remnabory, including in its membership a new cuff and pistons. The use of such signature sets will significantly extend the life of the unit.

Assembly

Installation is the reverse order of disassembly.

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Before installation, lubricate the cuffs of pistons with clean brake fluid or a special lubricant (for rubber components). When dressing to the pistons track correctness of the orientation of the cuff.
  2. Lubricate the mirror of the master cylinder with clean brake fluid and install into the cylinder return spring and piston assembly (in the same order).
  3. Dip piston in the cylinder, set restrictive cap and bend the tabs lock into the groove at the end of the housing GTZ.
  4. Lubricate the grommets with clean brake fluid reservoir or a special lubricant (for rubber components), and set into the body of the cylinder sleeve.
  5. Push the reservoir in the sealing grommets, set in the float tank and strainer.
  6. Install the GTZ on the car.
