Removal and installation of the mechanism of the parking brake shoes

Withdrawal

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Poddomkratte back of the car and establish it on props.
  2. Remove from the vehicle driveshaft.
  3. Mark installation position of drum parking brake mechanism in relation to the drive flange and remove the drum.
  4. Use your finger to push the head of the pin to the board of the brake mechanism, compress the spring guide shoe, turn holders (plate springs) 90 ?�, then remove the holder, the spring and saddle assembly with the brake.
  5. Remove the return spring, dissolve and remove the retaining rings and washers securing the brake shoes to the actuator. Remove the brake shoes and assembly control.
  6. Check up freedom of rotation of the regulator, then screw the adjusting screw all the way into the cylinder regulator. If necessary, clean and lubricate the threads on the regulator.
  7. Check the residual thickness of the friction linings of shoes, compare the results with standard values (see. Table sizes and adjustments in the end of the Guide), if necessary, replace the pads or install replacement shoes.
  8. Check the brake drum for wear, scratches, burrs and other damage. If necessary, make a groove, or replace the drum.

Setting

Installation is in the reverse order.

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Set the brake drum in accordance with applied during dismantling landing labels.
  1. Extend the regulator so that the shoes come into contact with the walls of the drum, then shorten it, seeking clearance 0.25 ÷ 0.40 mm (see. Accompanying illustration).

Removal and installation of the parking brake cable

Withdrawal

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Remove shoes parking brake mechanism.
  2. Remove the tip of a cable from the executive arm.
  3. Open the retaining ring and remove it with the tip of the sheath, separate cable from a brake board.
  4. Remove the center console.
  5. Release the mounting clip, compress the locking tabs, remove the pin and disconnect the cable from the hand brake lever.
  6. Loosen the lock nut shell and release the cable from the cable bracket.
  7. Pulling, drag a cable to pass through the sleeve body panels and remove it from the vehicle.
  8. Check the condition of the plastic lock fastening finger. If necessary, replace the finger.
  9. Check the condition of the cable in case of defects, replace.
  10. Check the cable grommet for signs of aging of the material. If necessary, replace.

Setting

Installation is in the reverse order.

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Moderately grease the ratchet lever parking brake, and all sliding surfaces of the actuator.
  2. Adjust the position of the sheath so that the lever of a platoon at 7 ÷ 9 clicks of a ratchet at applying a force of 20 kgf.
  3. Make sure that the warning lamp on the instrument panel lights up when the cocking lever to have clicks and not burn at full arm. If necessary, bend the base plate of the gauge-switch to correct the time response of a control lamp.

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Remove the center console of the car.
  2. Disconnect the cable from the parking brake lever.
  3. Give bolts of fastening of the lever, disconnect the wiring from the gauge-switch of a control lamp of the parking brake lever and remove the assembly from the car (part of the linkage shown in the accompanying illustration).

  1. Check the lever for signs of wear or damage. If necessary, replace.

Setting

Installation is in the reverse order.

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Tighten the lever to the desired torque.
  2. Finally, adjust the drive cable and the sensor switch the parking brake.
