Fault diagnosis of heating systems and air-conditioning



In the interior of the vehicle does not arrive hot air

Faulty thermostat. Replace.

Faulty drive heater control. Verify make the necessary repairs.

Broken cross-heating hose. Remove the cause of the lock, or replace the hose.

Broken cross-coil heater. Clean or replace the heat exchanger.

Make sure the engine is at normal operating temperature. In the absence of certainty, check the functioning of the thermostat.
After warming up the engine, both heating hose must be warm / hot to the touch (see. Accompanying illustration). If you violate cross exchanger one hose will be noticeably cooler than the second.

In the interior of the vehicle does not enter the cooled air

Slipping or broken drive belt air conditioning compressor. Replace the belt and / or adjust its tension (see. The appropriate section in Chapter Settings and maintenance).

Fell coolant level. Check for leaks (see. Accompanying illustration), if necessary add.

Do not functioning properly the air conditioning compressor. With the ignition switch on the air conditioning system and make the introduction of engaging the clutch compressor, should hand a distinct click. Otherwise, before proceeding to the removal of the compressor for repair in a specialist workshop, check the power supply to it.

There is a mix of warm air from the heating system with cooling. Check the heating system. Adjust the control cables. Replace defective components.

The above diagnostic procedures are only the basic checks. If there is suspicion of violation of the solid functioning of the air conditioning system, it is recommended to drive away the car in a specialized workshop for complex professional inspections and perform necessary repairs.
Do not be frightened when detecting traces of water under the vehicle when parking hot weather. Normally, this is just the condensate formed during operation of the air conditioning system.
