Fault Diagnosis of Power



The engine does not start

Insufficient fuel level in the float chamber. Check the fuel pump. Also check out the needle valve for continuity and signs of seizure.

Candles cold engine flooded with fuel due to an excessively hard work the gas pedal during start-up. Keep the pedal is released, and repeat the starting procedure until the engine starts.

Candles hot engine filled with the excessive use of the active gas pedal. Hold the pedal is released until the engine starts. Make sure that the air damper is completely open automation run.

On models equipped with a viewing window in the carburetor float chamber, visually check the fuel level in the chamber.
On models without viewing window rocking lever throttle, watching the fuel injection into the primary chamber of the carburettor.
Check for violations of the fuel supply by disconnecting the supply fuel pipe from the carburetor and then cranking the engine. In the engine bay indicates a strong smell of gasoline and the presence of traces of leaks of fuel along the axes of the throttle.

Engine stalls at idling

Broken installation of turns and / or quality of a mix of idling. Check, if necessary, correct setting by adjusting screws.

Defective unit home automation. Check the operation of the choke and adjustment of turns of fast idling.

Flooded carburetor float chamber. If possible, check the fuel level in the chamber through the window. Clean and blow the carburettor.

Broken cross-idling jet or an air jet. Clean and blow the carburettor.

Loose bolts carburetor to the intake pipe. Tighten the bolts check for air leaks.

There have been leaking through the flange gasket carburetor or intake manifold. Check, replace defective gaskets. Leaks through a lining of the inlet pipe can be identified by wetting the suspected plot joint motor oil (see. Accompanying illustration).

Defective solenoid valve termination of the fuel supply. Check the function of the valve, make the necessary repairs or replacement.

Insufficient supply of fuel to the carburetor. Check the flow of fuel through the needle valve. Clean and blow the carburettor. Check the patency of fuel pipe and the fuel filter, as well as the serviceability of functioning of the fuel pump.

Reduced car pickup

Defective or blocked accelerating pump. Clean and blow out the carburetor, replace defective components.

Defective drive traction accelerating pump. Check that make the necessary repairs.

Defective unit automatic start. Check the operation of the choke.

To check the path of the accelerating pump, remove the air cleaner and hold the choke in the open position, manually move the throttle lever. Through the throat of the carburettor must be visible in a trickle injected fuel.

There have been misfiring

Dirty air cleaner filter element. Perform replacement.

Partially closed choke. Check, make the necessary corrections.

Excessively high pressure fuel pump. Replace the pump.

There have been leaks from the fuel tank, fuel pipe or through the filter. Check that make the necessary replacement.

Worn or damaged nozzles. Check, replace defective components.

An excessively large load on the accelerator pump. Change the style of driving.

In most cases, excessive fuel consumption is associated with impaired patency of the air cleaner filter element, which can be easily removed and checked visually. You should also check the installation and serviceability of functioning of automatic start.

Fuel-injection systems and engine management
(4.2 liter models of late years of release)

The engine starts and then stalls

Broken install idle speed or ignition timing. Check to make the necessary adjustments.

Broken fuel supply. Check the electric circuit of the fuel pump and fuel pressure.

Faulty ignition system. Check the spark plug and electrode gap is correctly installed. Check out the cover and the runner distributor for cracks and coal paths. Check the condition of the terminals BB wires, measure the resistance of the resistive. Check the condition of all other terminal connections of the ignition system.

We have the air leakage or loss of vacuum. Check the condition and mounting fittings of appropriate hoses.

Faulty wiring of control system components of fuel. Check the condition and fastening of all terminal connections.

We have the misfire

Defective or contaminated spark plug or incorrectly set electrode gap.

Faulty distributor cap. Check the cover for cracks and the presence of moisture.

Faulty wire explosives. Check perform the necessary replacement.

Faulty ignition coil. Check, if necessary, replace.

Broken fuel supply. Check the fuel pressure. Check a violation patency fuel filter, lines and injectors.

The fuel is wet. Drain the fuel, replace the fuel filter.

Faulty fuel injectors. Check the electrical connectors and the injector circuit.

Engine does not develop full power

The filter element of an air cleaner or air intake tract patency broken. Replace the element (see. Accompanying illustration), or eliminate the cause of the lock.

Disturbed adjust the throttle cable. Perform the necessary adjustments, make sure in the fullness of the opening flap.

Broken ignition timing. Check and correct.

Broken fuel supply. Check the fuel pressure. Check the patency of the fuel filter, lines and injectors. Make sure that the vacuum hoses fuel pressure regulator are connected and are in good condition.

Broken cross-exhaust system. Check the condition of the system, eliminate the cause of the lock.

Excessive fuel consumption

The filter element of an air cleaner or air intake tract patency broken. Replace the element or remove the cause of the lock.

Do not comply with the fuel pressure. Measure the pressure. Check the patency of the fuel return line.

There have been a leak in the external fuel supply system. Check for signs of leakage couplings and components supply.

We have the internal leakage in the fuel system. Check for signs of leaks injectors.

Broken cross-exhaust system. Check the condition of the system, eliminate the cause of the lock.
