Troubleshooting automatic transmission



To fix listed in this section refer to a material fault of the Head of Transmission.

The starter does not operate in the transmission positions "P" and "N", or is in any other position

Worn bushings or thrust the switching mechanism, a violation of its adjustment. Adjust the selector shaft or replace the defective components.

Faulty sensor switch start authorization, or violation of its adjustment. Check, adjust or replace the gauge-switch.

The car is not driven at position Gearing "D"

Fell level of transmission fluid (ATF). Check for signs of fluid leakage in the rotation converter housing (see. Accompanying illustration), if necessary add.

Broken drive shift adjustment. Check and correct.

The transmission is filled with ATF is not the sort of liquid or heavily contaminated. Drain the transmission and fill it with fresh transmission fluid demanded grade (see. Table sizes and adjustments in the end of this manual).

There is no reverse gear in the transmission position "R"

Fell the fluid level in the transmission. Check, if necessary add.

Broken drive shift adjustment. Check and correct.

The car is not held in the "P"

Worn or deformed components of the drive shift (thrust sleeve) or weakened their attachment. Check that make the necessary adjustments, or replace the defective components.

The selector lever is loose in the stock selection. Perform the necessary repairs or replace the lever.
