Service rockers, their axes and hydraulic pushers

To perform the work described below require micrometers and callipers.

Withdrawal

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Turn the crankshaft, the engine leading position TDC of the first cylinder. In this position the mark on the crankshaft pulley is aligned with the pointer on the timing belt cover and turn the spout of the distributor slider towards the location of the terminals BB spark plug wire of the first cylinder.
  2. Remove the air cleaner.
  3. Release explosive spark plug wires from clamps on the cylinder head cover.
  4. With a spiral manner, moving from outside to inside, give the screws that secure the cylinder head cover on the head. Remove the cover.
  5. In several steps, loosen the bolts rocker axes and gently pull the assembly axes. Place the assembly in the order of their installation on the engine.
  6. To fix the valve lifters in the engine wear on their upper parts, rubber tires, and then remove the guide tappets with the cylinder head.

To avoid falling into the hydraulic pushers do not turn their air and strong, do not tilt.

Dismantling and check status

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Partially disassembled rocker assembly, their axes and pushers are shown in the accompanying illustration.

Axes with one label shall be installed in the front guide of pushers, two - in the rear. Arrangement rockers on the axes is clear from the illustration.

1 - a bolt
2 - Rocker
3 - one label
4 - the rocker arm shaft
5 - two labels
6 - hydraulic tappets
7 - the front label
8 - directing pushers
9 - back label
  1. Give bolts axes rocker. Check the status of the axes, remove the burrs are identified and bullies, can cause damage to the landing nests rocker arm during removal of the latter.
  2. Remove the rocker arm with their axes, putting them in order on the engine.
  3. Check axis for signs of wear or damage. With the help of a micrometer to measure the diameters of the axles. Compare your results with the regulatory requirements (see. Table sizes and adjustments in the end of this manual). Replace excessively worn axis.
  4. Check the condition of landing slots (holes) rocker. In case of suspicion of excessive wear to measure the inside diameter of nests. Compare the results with the data tables the sizes and adjustments. Replace worn rocker.
  5. Check out all the tappets for signs of operation, paying special attention to the surfaces in contact with the rocker arms. Excessively worn tappets must be replaced.

In case of excessive wear pusher must carefully check the condition of the corresponding cam lobes of a camshaft.

  1. Alternately, press the top of each of the hydraulic tappets. If the plunger is pushed deeper than 1.0 mm, the plunger must be replaced. Further check pushers can be made after the assembly by 10 minutes of starting the engine to 1000 rpm per minute. If during this test will identify specific noise, remove the component blocks access to the plunger and repeat the above checks. Replace all tappets, pistons which is recessed deeper than 1.0 mm.
  2. Using a micrometer, check the guide tappets for signs of excessive wear. Measure the inside diameter of holes and the diameters of corresponding pushers. If calculated at by subtracting from the result of the first measurement second gap is larger than specified in the tables of the sizes and adjustments (see. The end of the Guidelines), replace the affected component.

Assembly and installation

Assembly and installation are made in the reverse order of removal.

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Ensure patency of all channels and holes.
  2. Before assembly, lubricate all the components of clean motor oil.
  3. In the same manner the rocker put on an axis from which they were removed. If in the process of dismantling was not mating marks and rocker were mixed, use signs, illustrated in the accompanying illustration. Please note that the guide tappets and the rocker marked with a label should be installed in front of the guide.

Rocker on the asymmetric design - see. Accompanying illustration.

1 - Oil holes
2 - the cylinders 1, 2 and 3
3 - cylinder 4, 5 and 6
  1. Install the hydraulic valve lifters in the guides and fix them there by rubber bands.
  2. Install the components in the cylinder head, having tracked correctness of placing the rocker arm in the recesses guiding pushers. Tighten rocker arm axes, while only by hand.

Make sure that all the pistons and rods, valve tappets appeared located in the center of the working surfaces of the rocker arms and rocker arm oil holes are facing the valve springs.

  1. Make sure that the engine is still in the position TDC of the first cylinder. If necessary, make adjustments to the position of the crankshaft.
  2. Tighten the bolts on the rear of the rocker arm axis guide of pushers with demanded effort.
  3. Turn the engine by one turn in the direction of normal rotation so that the pointer on the lid of the gas distribution chain was back in front TDC on the crankshaft pulley. Tighten with demanded effort all the remaining bolts and rocker arm axles front guide.
  4. Check the condition and position of the cylinder head cover gasket. At the slightest doubt, the gasket should be replaced.
  5. Attach the cover to the cylinder head, tighten the screws and place the seals. Moving in a spiral from the center outward, in several stages, tighten the screws with the required torque. Connect the engine ventilation hoses.
  6. Install the air cleaner. Start the engine and check for leaks.
