Intake manifold

A warning

On vehicles with an engine capacity of 2.0 liters, the car model ("Phase I" or "Phase II") can be determined by the shape of the intake manifold. On models "Phase I" throttle body is set on the basis of the intake manifold, and the manifold goes up to the cylinder head; fuel injectors are located on top of the intake manifold and readily available. On models "Phase II" throttle body mounted on top of the intake manifold, and the manifold is lowered down to the cylinder head; fuel injectors are less accessible.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
Models with engine capacity of 1.6 liters
1. Drain the coolant from the cooling system, guided by the instructions resulted in subsection 2.4.5.
2. Follow the steps described in 1-6 in Section 6.3.2.10, and disconnect all of the elements from the throttle body.
3. Remember or mark the position of installation, all vacuum hoses and hoses of system of cooling of the intake manifold. Disconnect them from the intake manifold, and if necessary, from the corresponding vacuum valves. In order to avoid confusion when installing the hoses, mark each of the hoses when removing.
4. Loosen the nut connection (arrow) and remove the tube EGR connecting the inlet and outlet manifolds of the valve on the left side of the intake manifold.
5. Disconnect the connection of the injectors of the engine coolant temperature sensor. Remove all wires from the mounting clips and move them away from the intake manifold. If necessary, turn off fixing bolts and remove the ground wire (indicated by arrows) from the intake manifold.
6. Turn off fixing bolts and remove the mounting bracket from the bottom of the inlet manifold.
7. Release the pressure from the fuel system, guided by the instructions resulted in subsection 6.3.2.6, then, release fixing collars and disconnect the fuel hose and the hose of the return pipeline on the left side of the fuel reservoir. Plug the hole of the hose and the fuel reservoir to prevent leakage of fuel and dirt from entering the system.
8. Make sure that all vacuum / vent hoses are disconnected from the intake manifold, then the reverse of that shown in Fig. Tightening nuts and bolts on the inlet manifold - a model with 1.6-liter engine, unscrew and remove the fixing nut and bolts.
9. Remove the intake manifold to the cylinder head and remove it from the engine compartment, and then remove the intake manifold gasket and discard it.
Models of "Phase I" with engine capacity of 2.0 liters
10. To improve access put the car on a manual brake, then lift the front of the car and establish it on support. Access to the inlet manifold and its associated elements can receive the top and bottom of the car.
11. Release a fixing collar and disconnect the air inlet duct from the throttle body. Disconnect the accelerator cable from the throttle lever, then remove the lock nut and adjusting nut and remove the cable sheath from the mounting bracket.
12. Release the pressure from the fuel system, the instructions given in Section 6.3.2.6, then, release fixing collars and disconnect the fuel hose and the hose of the return pipeline on the left side of the fuel reservoir. Plug the hole of the hose and the fuel reservoir to prevent leakage of fuel and dirt from entering the system.
13. Loosen the fixing clamps and disconnect coolant hoses from the throttle body and intake manifold. Quickly plug the holes with the hose to prevent coolant leaks.
15. Disconnect the connection of the throttle potentiometer, adjust the air intake valves, injectors, engine coolant temperature sensor and adjusting block the air intake when the engine is idling. Remove the wires from the mounting clamps.
16. Turn off fixing bolts and remove the mounting brackets on the left and right sides of the intake manifold.
17. Make sure that all vacuum / vent hoses are disconnected from the intake manifold.
18. In the reverse order to that shown in Fig. Tightening nuts and bolts on the inlet manifold - model "Phase I" with engine capacity of 2.0 liters, unscrew and remove the fixing nuts and bolts of the intake manifold. Please note that you may have to remove the oil filter and / or the cover of the oil filter at the rear of the cylinder block to gain access to the lower bolt and nut intake manifold.
19. Remove the intake manifold to the cylinder head and remove it from the engine compartment, and then remove the intake manifold gasket and discard it.
Models of "Phase II" with engine capacity of 2.0 liters
20. To improve access put the car on a manual brake, then lift the front of the car and establish it on support. Access to the inlet manifold and its associated elements can receive the top and bottom of the car.
22. Release a fixing collar and disconnect the air inlet duct from the throttle body. Disconnect the accelerator cable from the throttle lever, then remove the lock nut and adjusting nut and remove the cable sheath from the mounting bracket.
23. Remember or mark the position of the installation of all vacuum hoses and hoses of the cooling system. Disconnect them from the upper section of the intake manifold and the throttle body. Quickly plug the holes with coolant hoses to prevent leakage of coolant. In order to avoid confusion when installing the hoses, mark each of the hoses when removing.
24. Disconnect the connection of the throttle potentiometer, the additional air intake control valve, the solenoid valve of the engine accelerated idling and the coolant temperature sensor. Remove the wires from the mounting clamps.
25. Unscrew and remove the eight fixing screws Fig. Tightening the nuts and bolts of the top section of intake manifold - a model "Phase II" with engine capacity of 2.0 liters and bolts of the upper mounting brackets (indicated by arrows), then remove the top section of the intake manifold together with the throttle body. Peel off the pad and throw it away.
26. Disconnect the connection of the control valve air intake and fuel injectors. Remove the wires from the mounting clips and remove them away from the intake manifold.
27. Loosen the fixing clamps and disconnect coolant hoses from the throttle body and intake manifold. Quickly plug the holes with the hose to prevent coolant leaks.
28. Turn off fixing bolts and remove the mounting brackets on the back of the intake manifold.
29. Loosen the nut and disconnect the phone connection EGR connecting the inlet and outlet manifolds of the valve on the left side of the intake manifold.
30. Remember or mark the position of installation of hoses. Disconnect them from the lower section of the intake manifold. Quickly plug the holes with coolant hoses to prevent leakage of coolant. In order to avoid confusion when installing the hoses, mark each of the hoses when removing. Make sure that all vacuum / vent hoses are disconnected from the intake manifold.
31. Drain the engine oil and remove the oil filter through the instructions in the relevant chapter. If the filter is damaged during removal, replace it.
32. In the reverse order of that shown in Fig. Tightening nuts and bolts fastening the lower section of the intake manifold - a model "Phase II" with engine capacity of 2.0 liters, unscrew and remove the fixing nuts and bolts of the intake manifold. Please note that, you may have to remove the oil filter housing or from the rear of the cylinder block to gain access to the lower bolt and nut intake manifold.

33. Remove the intake manifold to the cylinder head and remove it from the engine compartment, and then remove the intake manifold gasket and discard it.
