Check suspension and steering

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Set the parking brake, lift the front of the car and establish on supports.
2. Inspect the rubber covers ball joints and steering covers, check on them cracks, tears and wear. Any damage to these parts cause the loss of lubrication, dirt and water, which leads to accelerated wear of joints and parts of the steering mechanism.
3. On vehicles with hydraulic hoses, check the condition of the hydraulic drive wheel, the presence of these signs of aging and wear, also check the tightness of all pipes and hoses at the joints with the fittings. Also check for leakage of fluid under pressure from a rubber covers of the steering mechanism. Traces of the leak point to the failure of the seals of steering transfer.
4. Rock the wheel in a vertical plane, holding the top and bottom edges. It allowed barely perceptible movement of the wheels, however, conspicuous if the backlash, it is necessary to find the cause. Ask the assistant to press the brake pedal and then shake the wheel in a vertical plane.
5. If the play will disappear, or greatly reduce, the cause is the failure of the hub bearings. If you play with rocking wheel while pressing the brake varies slightly, the worn suspension ball joints or fasteners suspension arms to the body.
6. Shake the wheel in the horizontal plane. Any significant play in this plane can be caused by wear of the bearing hub or tips of steering drafts. At deterioration of internal or external tip a noticeable backlash wheel.
7. To check the wear of the front suspension bushes shake the item to which the sleeve is pressed, a large screwdriver or a crowbar. It allowed a small gap due to the elasticity of rubber. A significant gap in the bushes will be easily noticeable. Also check the condition of all the visible rubber plugs, presence on them of cracks, delamination or swelling rubber.
8. Lower the car and ask the assistant to turn the steering wheel in both directions by one eighth of a turn. Luft steering must be absent, let's also barely noticeable backlash. Otherwise, carefully check all suspension joints, in addition, check the wear of the universal joint of the steering column and steering gear wear.

Check spring strut front suspension

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Check for signs of fluid leakage on the housing strut, or on the edges of the rubber cover stock. Any traces of leaks indicate internal defects of the rack and the need to replace the node.

A warning

Strut must be replaced in pairs (on right and left side).

2. Serviceability damper struts can be checked by clicking sharply on the front part of the wing of the car. After releasing the body should return to its original position without oscillating.
3. Weak body movements after pressing indicate a possible fault counters. Check the wear of the upper and lower mounting struts.
