1. The stability of the vehicle when cornering and optimum position of the front wheels in the space defined by the four major angles are expressed in degrees (except for the toe angle, which is expressed in a dimensional value obtained directly from measurements). |
2. Camber - the angle formed by the plane of the wheel and a vertical line drawn through the center of the wheel and the tire contact area with the road surface when viewed from the front or rear of the vehicle. When the "positive" collapse the upper part of the wheel is offset from the vertical side of the vehicle, with a "negative" collapse the upper part of the wheel is offset from the vertical toward the vehicle. |
3. Camber is not adjustable and is given for reference only. This angle can be measured with a special device. If the camber angle is different from the standard, the car should be returned to a workshop for checking experienced staff, as the only reason for the collapse of the violations is worn or damaged suspension components or body. |
4. The angle of inclination of the longitudinal axis of rotation - is the angle formed by the axis of rotation of the wheel and the vertical drawn through the center of the wheel and the tire contact area with the road surface when viewed from the side of the car. When the "positive" pitch axis rotation pivot axis is tilted so that the axis line extends in front of the vertical drawn from the center of the wheel, when viewed in direction of travel. |
5. "negative" tilt pivot axis extends behind the vertical drawn from the center of the wheel, when viewed in direction of travel. |
6. The angle of inclination of the longitudinal axis of rotation is not regulated and is given for reference only. This angle can be measured on a special stand. If the angle of inclination of the longitudinal axis of rotation is different from the standard, the car should be returned to a workshop for inspection, as the cause of the collapse of the violations can only be worn or damaged suspension components or body. |
7. The angle of inclination of the transverse axis of rotation (usually denoted SAI) - is the angle formed between the axis of rotation and a line drawn through the center of the wheel and the tire contact area with the road surface when viewed from the front or rear of the vehicle. This angle is provided by the design of the suspension. |
8. Toe - is the angle between the axis of the vehicle and a line drawn through the center of the wheel in the horizontal plane. Wheels "converge" if face each other and the "variance" if turned in opposite directions along the vehicle. |
9. The convergence of the front wheels is adjusted by turning the tips of steering drafts in which changes the total length of both rods. |
10. The convergence of the rear wheels is adjusted by rotating the eccentric bolt mounting wishbone rear suspension to the body. |
