Fuel Level Sensor

Withdrawal

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
2. To gain access to the sensor, remove the rear seat.
3. Turn off fixing screws and lift the cover to gain access to the sensor.
4. Disconnect the connector (s) connections from the fuel level sensor and attach the connector to connect to the car's body with adhesive tape so that it does not lay down for the fuel tank.
5. Release the pressure from the fuel system (see. Subsection 6.3.1.7).
6. Mark the hoses in order not to mix them, and then release the hose clamps securing the fuel supply and return line hose.
7. Disconnect the two hoses from the fuel level sensor and plug hose openings.
8. Note the position of the mounting mark on the fuel level sensor (arrow must look ahead of the car). If the mounting mark is no, put it.
9. On the models on which the sensor is mounted with a large ring, unscrew and remove it from the tank. This is best done with a screwdriver, set the notch on the edge of the locking ring. Gently tapping the screwdriver, unscrew the lock ring counter-clockwise so that it can be rotated by hand.
10. On the models on which the sensor is attached with screws, unscrew and remove all fixing bolts and washers.
11. On all models, carefully remove the sensor on top of the fuel tank, taking care not to bend the float arm, and not to spill fuel on the seat upholstery and interior.
12. When removing the sensor, disconnect the connector connecting the fuel pump; Insert your hand into the fuel tank and tighten the retaining clip to remove the fuel pump from the bottom of the fuel tank.
13. Next, the fuel pump and fuel level sensor can be removed together with the fuel tank.
14. Remove the rubber O-ring and discard it; It must be used when installing a new one.
15. Loosen the fixing clamp, then disconnect the hose from the bottom of the fuel pump the fuel level sensor, and remove the gauge from the pump.
16. Rinse the fuel filter in a solution with a high flash point.
17. Inspect the filter for signs of clogging or cracks, and replace it if necessary.

Setting

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Installation is spent upside-down removals.
2. When installing pay attention to the following points.
3. Install the fuel gauge on the fuel pump, check that the hoses are connected properly and securely fastened collars.
4. Establish a new rubber O-ring on the fuel tank.
5. Make sure that the fuel pump is securely attached before installing the fuel level sensor.
6. If the sensor is fixed with locking ring, align the mark on the sensor with a mark on the fuel tank, and securely tighten the ring.
7. If the sensor is fixed with screws, align the mark on the sensor and the fuel tank, made prior to removal, and tighten all the mounting bolts.
8. Check the connecting hoses and fuel return pipe and tighten fixing collars.
9. Before installing the enclosure, connect the battery and start the engine and check the fuel hoses for signs of fuel leakage.
