| 1. When installing a new clutch and pressure plate coupling remove from them anticorrosive protection. |
| 2. When installing the clutch, make sure that its friction linings, even in small amounts has not got oil, so before installing the clutch disc, wipe the mating surface of the flywheel and pressure plate surface with a clean cloth and place the clutch disc with clean hands. |
 | 3. Install the pressure plate with steel plate on the crankshaft. The installation position of the steel plate should be such that the hole in the plate is aligned with the projection (arrow). |
| 4. Screw the pressure plate bolts and tighten them to 60 Nm and then tighten them an angle of 90 ?�. Due to the fact that the stretching occurs bolt installation, use only new bolts. |
 | 5. Install the pressure plate in the shut-off disc (B) and secure it with the retaining ring (A). |
| 6. Coat the spline on the clutch disc with a thin layer of special lubricants based on molybdenum disulfide. |
 | 7. Check that the dowel pins are rigidly secured to the flywheel. Install the clutch disc and pressure plate on the flywheel. To center the handwheel are dowel pins. Locating pins of the flywheel should be aligned with the corresponding holes. Also for centering flywheel can use special tool VW 3178. |
| 8. After centering the flywheel gradually and in diagonal sequence tighten the flywheel bolts to 20 Nm. |
| 9. If used, remove the special centering tool VW 3178. |
| 10. Install the transmission. |
When installing new parts in the catalog of spare parts always agrees pressure plate and clutch disc with a letter index of the engine and engine number.
