Brakes

According to the purpose and the functions they perform the braking system is divided into a working, spare, parking and emergency. Brake system provides variable speed control of the car and stop it with the necessary efficiency. Replacement system is used to stop the car with the necessary efficiency in case of failure of the service braking system. The parking system is used to hold the vehicle stationary in relation to the road. She is mainly used to keep the standing car, but it can also be used as an emergency in case of failure of the service braking system.

By car braking system is used with a hydraulic drive and diagonal division of contours, which significantly increases the safety of driving. If one of the circuit as a backup brake system used by the second circuit, stops the car with sufficient efficiency.

The brake system consists of a master cylinder, brake booster and disc brakes on the front and the disc or drum brakes on the rear wheels.

Brake fluid reservoir is located in the engine compartment of the master cylinder and supplies the braking system and clutch brake fluid. Vacuum brake booster reduces the force on the brake pedal, thereby facilitating control of the vehicle.

Front wheel brake disc with a movable slide. It fits into the wheel has a small number of components, including seals, and a small mass. Since the heat transfer occurs in one cylinder, brake fluid heats up less.

Hand brake acts on the rear wheels via a cable drive.

A warning

When the brake pads the brake dust which contains asbestos, unhealthy, so when cleaning the brake pads do not use compressed air and do not inhale the dust.

When driving on a wet road is recommended from time to time to press the brake pedal to the brake discs to remove harmful inclusions. Due to the centrifugal force water is discharged from the motion of the brake discs, but they remain a thin film of grease, silicones, rubber residues, grease and dirt, which reduces braking efficiency. When you stop the car after driving in the rain at the end of the motion it is recommended to dry the brakes by pressing the brake pedal.

After installing new brake pads must be earned extra. For the first 200 km run is not recommended without the need to make maximum braking.

Corroded brake discs cause vibration when braking effect which disappears during prolonged braking. In this case, the brake discs to be replaced.

The brake fluid used in the hydraulic system of brakes, is poisonous, so if you hit it on the skin should immediately wash it with plenty of water. If fluid inadvertently enters the eye or inside the body, you must seek medical advice immediately. Some liquids have property easily to ignite and can light up even from contact to hot knots of the car. In addition, the brake liquid dissolves a paint and plastic, therefore at liquid hit on a paint and varnish covering of the car, rinse it with plenty of water. Also, this fluid is hygroscopic, i.e. absorbs moisture from the air, and therefore the liquid stored for a long time in an open container, not recommended.

Brake fluid must not come in contact with mineral oils. Even a small amount of mineral oil incapacitates the brake fluid and brake system.

Replace the brake fluid every 2 years.
