Verifying thermostat

Operating position of the thermostat

and - the thermostat is closed;

b - the thermostat is open

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Measure the length (a) a closed thermostat.
	2. A rough check operation of the thermostat can be done by hanging it on a string in a glass vessel filled with water and heating the water to a boil.
3. When the water boils the thermostat should open, otherwise replace it.
4. The temperature of the thermostat opening marked on the thermostat.
5. When the thermostat is heated to the boiling point of water the length of opening of the thermostat (b) must be greater than the length of the closed thermostat (a) to 7 mm.
6. Thermostat, which is not closed when the cooling water must also be replaced.
