Installation of pistons and rods

To install the pistons and connecting rods must do the following:
- Thoroughly lubricate the cylinder bore;
.

Connecting rod bearing
Fig. 60. Connecting rod bearing

- To put all the connecting rods according to the number of cylinders. The tides on the connecting rod and bearing cap should be directed toward the crankshaft pulley (see Fig. 60). Fig. 66 shows how the items should be combined;

Details of the piston rod and the engine capacity of 1.0 liters (other engines the connecting rod bolts screwed into it from the bottom): 1 - the piston rings; 2 - piston; 3 - the connecting rod; 4 - the connecting rod bearing cap; 5 - a nut bearing rod 30 Nm + 90 ?; 6 - bearing rod; 7 - the cylinder block; 8 - a bolt rod (always replace) on the engine volume of 1.3, 1.4 and 1.6 liter tightening torque of 30 Nm + 90 ?; 9 - retaining ring piston pin; 10 - piston pin

- The arrows on the bottom of the piston must point to the front of the engine;
- Arrange piston rings so that they are equidistant from one another around the circumference of the piston at an angle of 120 ?. Fig. 66 shows the shift in relation to the lock piston pin;
- Set tie-band clamp around the piston rings, as shown in Fig. 72, and pressing his hands to install the piston rings into the grooves. Check the tightness of the Rings;

- To put on a short rod stud trim rubber or plastic tubing (for the engine capacity of 1.0 liters), so as not to scratch the cylinder bore;
- Turn the engine crankshaft as long as the two crank pins will not appear in the BDC;
- Insert the top rod in the cylinder. Put this to the engine on its side so that you can install on a support rod neck, to prevent any scratches in the cylinder or crankshaft. Bearing rod must be located in the connecting rod and its mounting bolt - in the corresponding slots in the rod;
- Insert the piston in the cylinder bore, while the ring in turn will not be included in the channel, and the lower head of the connecting rod is seated on the crank pin of the crankshaft;
- Insert the second insert in the bearing cover, lubricate it well, press the bearing cap to the connecting rod studs and lightly tap (engine capacity of 1.0 liters) or screw bolts into the connecting rod bearing cap via a rod. In this case, lubricate the underside of the screw heads and threads, by first removing the rubber tube (if used). Be sure to watch out for in order to have been combined with each other, both the high tide;
- Grease the bearing surface of the bearing cap nuts to the rod, thread rod bolts (engine displacement of 1.0 liters). Tighten the nuts and bolts of the connecting rod in two stages as follows:
1) Tighten the nuts or bolts connecting rod alternately until 30 Nm;
2) tighten another 90 ?;
- After installation of the connecting rod to crank the crankshaft several times to identify the seizure;
- Check again the designation of rods and make sure that the pistons are installed correctly;
- Measured by probe clearance between the side surface of the connecting rod and the working surface of the crankshaft, as shown in Fig. 73. This axial clearance of the connecting rod bearings, which should not exceed 0.40 mm. Usually it is 0,05-0,31 mm. Measure the gap better than before dismantling the engine;

- Carry out further work in the reverse order of removal, in conclusion, to set the tray (Sect. 3.1.). We should pay attention to the difference in the method of fixation (since March 1995).
