The assembly of pistons and rods
For the assembly of pistons and rods, do the following: - When replacing the piston to make sure that all the pistons are of the same type; - Pistons heated to a temperature of 60 ? C (put in hot water). Choose a mandrel of suitable size, which can be inserted into the piston pin; - To strengthen the hands lubricated finger inserted into the heated piston and connecting rod. Fig. 71 shows how to hold a finger. You must first be installed on one side of the thrust ring to be able to firmly press your finger to it;

- The assembly of pistons and rods required to comply with the following recommendations: 1) The arrow on the piston crown (hand-drawn or embossed from the new pistons) should be towards the front of the engine (see. Fig. 58);

2) the tides on the connecting rod and the bearing caps (see. Fig. 60) must be turned in the direction of the crankshaft pulley; 3) designate numbers of cylinders (see. Fig. 59) on the connecting rod and bearing cap should be consistent with each other;

- Set on the other side of the piston second snap ring and ensure the reliability of its landing; - Check that the piston after the assembly was free to bend in different directions; - Set using forceps to mount piston rings, piston ring grooves (see. Fig. 63). Compression piston rings can be confused so before installing pay attention to their cross-section. In addition, these rings have on one side the designation ?Top? or ?Oben?, after installation of the ring is to be seen from the bottom side of the piston.
