Measure cylinder bore

To measure the diameter of the cylinder bore gauge indicator is required, with which you can get measurements from the middle and the base of the cylinder. In its absence, it is impossible to conduct these works. Using indicator bore gauge for measuring the diameters of the cylinders, it's pretty difficult, so it is advisable to deliver a disassembled engine block for measurements in the repair shop. They quickly establish the degree of wear of the cylinder. The last bore cylinder block is supplied with the pistons, which in this case are labeled according to the numbering cylinders.
Measuring the diameter of the cylinders are held in the longitudinal and transverse directions (Fig. 65). Besides it is necessary to also measure the diameters 10 mm from the upper edge, 10 mm from the bottom edge, and once in the middle. The total diameter of each cylinder have six measurements. All the values obtained are recorded and compared with the technical data (see. Adj.).

Keep in mind that boring and honing should be carried out on all cylinders. The deviation from the nominal rate equal to 0.04 mm. Pistons repair sizes can be obtained in accordance with the dimensions given in "Technical Information". The total size of the three. Finally, the cylinder diameter is determined by measuring the piston (Fig. 67) at a distance of 10 mm from the bottom edge of the piston skirt and at right angles to the piston pin hole under. If a deviation from the main piston size greater than 0.04 mm, the cylinder block is necessary to chisel and hone.
To check the clearance measuring piston and the cylinder bore, as described, and determine the difference in size on the cylinder. If the result is greater than 0.07 mm, the cylinders have to chisel and hone as he reached the wear limit.
