Crankshaft Seals
Front and rear crankshaft oil should be changed after each removal of the crankshaft or flange seals. Replacing the seals carried out, usually with the use of special tools with the necessary precautions. Upon detection of oil spills in the locations of seals made to replace them. Replacement seals can be carried out on the engine installed. The consequence of leakage of oil through the crankshaft rear oil seal can become a slip clutch. Leaking oil from the front oil seal crankshaft can lead to slippage of the drive belt, as well as damage to the V-belt or gear. Removing the front oil seal Removing the crankshaft front oil seal is held in the following order: - Remove the timing belt, the cover of the drive and the drive belt; - Lock the lock crankshaft stationary, or engage a gear and apply the parking brake; - Remove the bolt crankshaft pulley (damper), to remove the front oil seal, do the following:

- Screw as far as possible in the crankshaft Allen screw instrument 3083 (Fig. 141);
| Fig. 128. Puller camshaft oil seal 2085: A - the inner part of a stripper in 2085; V - the set screw
- Remove the inner part of A (see. Fig. 128), a stripper in 2085 about two turns (about 3 mm) from the outer portion of the puller and lock in this position adjusting screw B;

- Lubricate threaded head of a stripper in 2085, put it as far as possible in the packing and screw in stuffing box (Fig. 142); - Loosen the setscrew V and drive the inner portion A (see. Fig. 128) with a uniform pressure from the tool as long as the oil seal will not extruded; - Hold a stripper in a vice and remove the gland with the help of pliers. Removing the rear oil seal Removing the crankshaft rear oil seal in the following order: - Remove the gearbox, clutch and flywheel (or if the car has an automatic transmission, it is necessary to remove the drive pulley);

- Set the lever (Fig. 143), a stripper in 2086 on the flange of the crankshaft and use it to remove the rear oil seal; - If there is a stripper in 2086, the rear oil seal can be removed with a screwdriver, you will need to make sure that the stuffing box cover is not damaged.
Note If the motor is removed, then unscrew the cover of the front or rear oil seal (see. Fig. 136 and 137) and remove it along with the gland. Then beat out the inside of the gland cover. |
Install front oil seal on the removed engine When installing oil seal on the removed engine proceed as follows: - Lubricate the working surface and the outer side of the gland engine oil and gently press-fit it into the cover so that the outer surface of the gland completely went inwards. Working with a hammer, be careful not to deform the gland; - Carefully position the gland with outer lining through the crankshaft to the cylinder block and align it well. Gradually the circle tighten the bolts with a torque of 10 Nm. Install front oil seal to the engine is not removed from the car When installing the front oil seal to the engine do the following:

- Put the guide sleeve 3083 (Fig. 144) a special device on the crankshaft. Lubricate the inside and outside of the gland with engine oil and put it on the guide sleeve;

- Wear on the guide sleeve 3083 the gland of the same instrument (Fig. 145) and tighten the bolt of the crankshaft damper located in the center, as long as the gland is seated in his place; - After setting the front oil seal, remove all parts of the instrument. Install rear oil seal on the removed engine When installing the rear oil seal on the motor, do the following: - Apply engine oil the working surface and the outer side of the gland, and gently press-fit it into the back cover so that the outer surface of the gland is completely gone inside; - Carefully replace the back cover, with outer lining through the crankshaft to the cylinder block, align it well and in a circle evenly tighten the bolts tightening torque of 10 Nm. Install rear oil seal on the engine, not removed from the car When installing the rear oil seal on the engine, not removed from the car, do the following: - Hammer hammer gland carefully to position it in the middle. At the same time, be careful and try not to damage a working edge of the gland;

- Device 2003/1 (Fig. 146) or a metal circle with a hole in the center to the edge of the crankshaft, fixed with two screws in the threaded holes in the clutch pressure plate, evenly tightening both bolts, press-fit the oil seal into the correct position.
Note After installation of the anterior or posterior gland engine all subsequent assembly work performed in reverse disassembly, depending on whether the replacement of gland was produced. |
