Hydraulic tappet

Improper handling of the hydraulic tappets can damage the engine, so please observe the following recommendations:
- After removal of the hydraulic tappets contact surface should be set down on a clean surface;
- Always replace pushers completely, since they can not be adjusted or repaired;
- Noise when starting the engine valve is normal. However, if it is too loud, then you need to check the pushers for this:
- Start the engine and let it run for as long as the cooling fan will turn on;
- Increase the engine speed to 2500 min-1 and let it run for 2 minutes;
- If the valves are still noisy, to determine a faulty pusher stop the engine, remove the cylinder head cover and rotate the camshaft so that its pusher cam for inspecting looking up;

Check of hydraulic pushers

- Click on the pusher piece of plastic or sharpened wooden stick (Fig. 126). If the gap will be larger than 0.10 mm, before the valve opens, the plunger must be replaced.

Note
