Indexes of speed of tires

Speed Index (eg. ?T?) after the tire size labeling (eg. 185/65 R14 86T) indicates the maximum permissible speed (Vmax) for a given tire.
Tires for the vehicle must be selected so that the maximum permissible speed was greater than the maximum ("depending on the design") vehicle speed.
If in a particular case we are talking about the car, which has domestic operating permit, the maximum speed of the vehicle is calculated as follows.
The formula for vehicles with Vmax to 150 km / h.
Vmax = 1,03 xv + 3,5 km / h.
Example: The specified maximum speed V = 145 km / h.
Vmax = 1,03 x 145 km / h +3.5 km / h = 152.85 km / h.
In this case it is necessary to use a bus index ?Q? or higher speed index.
The formula for vehicles with vmax to 151 km / h.
Vmax = 1,01 xv + 6,5 km / h.
Example: The specified maximum speed V = 163 km / h
Vmax = 1,01 x 163 km / h + 6,5 km / h = 171.13 km / h.
In this case it is necessary to use a bus index ?S? or higher speed index.
Vehicles with EC type approval.
If in a particular case we are talking about a vehicle with EC type approval, the maximum speed is calculated for all vehicles by the formula.
Vmax = 1,05 x V.
Example: The specified maximum speed V = 172 km / h.
Vmax = 1,05 x 172 km / h = 180.60 km / h.
In this case, you must use the bus with index ?T? or higher speed index
The use of tires with a higher speed index is allowed. The same applies to tires with a higher load index.

NOTE
Instead, the letter ?V? should be substituted indicated in the passport of a vehicle in the column 6 the maximum speed. This conversion is necessary because all the cars for technical reasons, are developing different maximum speeds within the allowable tolerance laws.
