Radio



Removal and installation of the radio

Factory fitted radios are equipped carrying case that allows you to quickly install and remove it. However, this is only possible using a special tool, which is attached to the radio when buying or commercially available. The fact that the radio is in a case, as a rule, can be determined by 4 holes on the front panel.

Withdrawal

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Turn off the ignition.
2. Disconnect the earth cable (-) from the battery.

A warning

When disconnecting the battery erased the memory of the radio and the electronic control units. VW produces serial production of radios equipped with anti-theft code. It prevents unwanted inclusion of the device after tripping. Turn off the circuit may, for example, occur when disconnecting the battery, removing the radio or radio fuse. If the radio is coded, before disconnecting the battery to write code. If the code is not known, the radio can be put into operation only in the workshop.

The individual code number given in the operating instructions of the radio. The code can not be stored in the car.


3. Insert two removable tool (A) to the right and to the left in front of the hole. If no holes, remove the control buttons and shield. Insert the removable device.

A warning

If you do not have removable devices inserted in their place in the opening 4 pin 1.5 mm and about 30 mm long and thus free case.


4. Remove the radio, without canting.
5. Mark with tape connectors speaker (right / left) and remove. Remove the antenna. Disconnect the multi-plug.
6. Remove the removable device by squeezing the locking clip for this small screwdriver.

Setting

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Connect the electrical wiring and the antenna to the rear side of the radio.
2. Insert the radio into the dashboard until it clicks.
3. Connect the earth cable () to the battery.

A warning

Connect the battery only when the ignition is switched off, otherwise fail control unit injection system.


4. Set the clock.
5. Enter the anti-theft radio code.
6. Turn on the radio and check the operation. If the built-in anti-theft radio code, enter it before.

Directions to the radio, the establishment of additional

Fitted as standard multipin connector suitable for all radio devices VW's 1988 models of cars of release. The plug has the following color-coded cables:

- Red - plus a constant;
- Brown - minus (weight machines);
- Gray / blue - highlighting the scale;
- Brown Red - the drive control on and off the ignition (special equipment). In no case do not connect to this drive voltage of the battery;
- Blue / White - speed signal for automatic volume adjustment (special equipment).

A warning

If you do not use cable with an adapter, make sure you pay attention to the good insulation bare wires. Otherwise, a short circuit and possible ignition of the winding of the cable.


Pay attention to the fact that the sample used only proven interference suppressors (General Certification, ABE). Otherwise, the tolerance of the machine for operation becomes invalid. On sale are specifically designed for VW interference suppressors for installation instructions.
A warning

If the radio will be installed in addition, set up the radio antenna. To do this, catch the weak medium-station. Then a small screwdriver to tune it for the best reception using rigged screw (front right side of the radio panel).
