Checking the belt drive power steering pump



PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Check the belt tension, having pressed on it effort 98 N (10 kg) in a place located on identical removal from pulleys and measure a belt deflection. Deflection of a belt: 6-9 mm.
  1. If the belt tension is not correct, adjust it as follows.

1) Loosen the tension adjusting screw drive belt power steering pump.

2) mount, inserted between the bracket and the pump, adjust the belt tension so the belt deflection is within acceptable limits.

3) Tighten the adjustment belt drive power steering pump.
4) Check the belt tension and, if necessary, repeat the adjustment.

Rotate the crankshaft of the engine and re-check the belt tension.
