Check the torque converter in the fully locked car (Stall test)
The purpose of this test is to measure the maximum speed of the crankshaft of the engine when fully locked output shaft of an automatic transmission in the band ?D? and ?R?. The audit can determine the efficiency of overrunning clutch torque converter stator, as well as the presence of slip in friction clutches and brakes first gear and reverse gear.
ATTENTION During this test does not allow anyone to be in the front or rear of the vehicle. |

Check the level and oil temperature (ATF) automatic transmission and engine coolant temperature. The oil level in the automatic transmission (ATF) must be at "MUSIC" on the dipstick. The oil in the automatic transmission (ATF) must be warmed up to normal operating temperature (70-80 ? C). Engine coolant should also be warmed up to normal operating temperature (80-90 ? C). Install the brake shoes (chocks) under the rear wheels of the vehicle. Set check the tachometer to measure the speed of the crankshaft of the engine. Raise the parking brake lever and depress the brake pedal all the way. Start the engine. Set the selector lever to position ?D?, click the stop on the accelerator pedal to determine the maximum speed of the crankshaft of the engine at that moment. During this test, do not hold the throttle wide open for longer than necessary to determine the maximum speed of the crankshaft of the engine or more than five seconds. If this test is necessary to carry out more than once, after each inspection turn selector lever in position ?N?, and run the engine at 1000 rpm -1 mode for 2 Mindl cooling oil in the automatic transmission (ATF) between checks. Nominal value: the engine speed of the engine when the vehicle is completely locked (Stall test): 2300-2700 vol. / min. Move the selector lever to ?R? and repeat the test on a completely locked vehicle, similar to the above-mentioned items. When checking for a range of ?D? in the fully locked car engine speed is higher than the nominal value Exceeding the nominal speed of the crankshaft of the engine shows slip back or freewheel clutch gearbox. In this case, check the pressure in the hydraulic control lever to determine the cause of the slip. When checking for a range of ?R? in the fully locked car engine speed is higher than the nominal value Exceeding the nominal speed of the crankshaft of the engine shows the front slip clutch or brake transmission first gear and reverse gear. In this case, check the pressure in the hydraulic control lever to determine the cause of the slip. When checking for a range of ?N? in the fully locked the vehicle speed of the crankshaft of the engine is less than the nominal value If the speed of the crankshaft of the engine is less than the nominal value, the reason for this is the lack of (inadequate) engine power output or failure of the torque converter. Check passes flashes in cylinders (misfire), ignition timing, valve clearance, etc. If all the above items normal, the torque converter is defective.
