Adjusting the axial clearance of hard disk brakes (Brake reaction plate end play)
| Fig. 3.60. Driving adjust the axial clearance of hard disk brakes
|
Replace the pressure plate (pressure plate) brake transmission of the first and reverse gears special device, and then install the brake disc (brake disk), the disk without pads (brake plate) and the retaining ring, as shown in Figure 3.60. Install the thrust washer and the previously removed original retaining ring. Move the special tool, measure the axial clearance and then, if the axial clearance is not within the standard value, adjust it by replacing the original new retaining ring of appropriate thickness. Nominal value: 0,0-0,16 mm (See reference table 3.16).
Adjusting the axial clearance of the brake of the second transmission (Second brake end play)
| Fig. 3.61. Driving adjust the axial clearance of the brake second gear
|
Replace the pressure plate (pressure plate) brake transmission of the second special tool, and then install the brake disc (brake disk), the disk without pads (brake plate), as shown in Figure 3.61. Install return spring (return spring), the second transfer piston brake (second brake piston) and the retaining ring. Nominal value: 0,79-1,25 mm. If the axial clearance is not within the standard value, adjust it by choosing a new pressure plate whose thickness is within the specified range of values.
| Fig. 3.62. The axial clearance of the second brake transmission
|
The thickness of the new pressure plate = (measured clearance "A") + (thickness of a special device) - (nominal axial clearance) (Fig. 3.62). See reference table 3.16.
Adjusting the axial clearance of the brake first gear and reverse gear
| Fig. 3.63. Measuring the axial clearance of the brake first transmission
|
Turn the gearbox rear of the set up and dial gauge (Fig. 3.63). Move the special tool up and down, measure the axial clearance. Nominal value: 1,35-1,81 mm. If the axial clearance is not within the standard value, adjust it by choosing a new pressure plate whose thickness is within the specified range of values.
| Fig. 3.64. Axial backlash brake first transmission
|
The thickness of the new pressure plate = (measured clearance "A") + (thickness of a special device) - (nominal axial clearance) (Fig. 3.64). See reference table 3.15.
Adjusting the axial clearance of the sun gear down planetary gear set (underdrive sun gear end play)
| Fig. 3.66. Measuring the axial clearance of the sun gear down planetary gear set
|
Install the previously removed original holder thrust bearing ?8, then replace the rear transaxle housing. Measure the axial clearance of the sun gear down planetary gear set (Fig. 3.66). If the axial clearance is not within the standard value, adjust it to pick up on the following table the new holder of the thrust bearing # 8 of appropriate thickness. Standard value: 0.25-0.45 mm.
NOTE To simplify measuring axial clearance of the sun gear planetary gear set down the underdrive clutch hub. |
Adjusting the preload of the differential housing (Differential case preload) Put a piece of solder (about 10 mm and a diameter of approximately 3 mm) on the converter housing.
Install the converter housing on the transaxle case without using the sealant. Tighten bolts to the specified torque. Loosen the bolts and remove the solder (Fig. 3.67).
| Fig. 3.68. Measuring the thickness of a piece of deformed solder
|
Using a micrometer, measure the thickness "T" of the deformed piece of solder. To create a nominal preload spacer pick, the thickness of which corresponds to the range of values (Fig. 3.68). Nominal value: 0,045-0,105 mm. The thickness of the spacer = (thickness of the solder 'T') + (nominal preload)
