Check locating and stop cams for wear.
Check selector lever bushing for wear or damage.
Check the spring for damage or wear.
Check the tip of the rod assembly for wear.

NOTE
During maintenance of the automatic transmission selector lever lock, follow these instructions and procedures of adjustment to ensure correct operation of the system.

To insert the locking cam

Installation of the locking cam ignition key is in position "B"
Fig. 3.109. Installation of the locking cam ignition key is in position "B"

Move the locking cam selector lever in the direction of "A" and hold his hand in this position (see. Fig. 3.109).
Check that the locking cam ignition key is in the "B" and hold stop pin (Fig. 3.109).

The procedure for adjustment of a cable of the selector lever lock and a cable lock ignition key

The position of the locking lugs
Fig. 3.110. The position of the locking lugs

Check that both locking cam mounted in the position shown in Figure 3.110.
Install cables selector lever lock and ignition key in this position. At the other end of a cable lock the ignition key should be fixed in the ignition lock and cable lock selector lever - on the brake pedal in the appropriate position.
Temporarily connect a cable to both the selector lever, as shown in Figure 3.111.
Securely attach each cable to the corresponding pin of the locking cam.
Make sure that the tip of a cable lock selector lever pin locking cam regard to the selector lever, and then secure the nut outer sheath of the cable on the bracket, and the tip of a cable - a washer and cotter pin.
Lightly press the locking cam ignition key in the direction of the arrow ?Q?.

Selector lever cable
Fig. 3.111. Selector lever cable

Gently pull the cable lock the ignition key in the direction of the arrow ?G?, to pull the rope, and then lock the outer sheath of a cable nut (see. Fig. 3.111).
Make sure the tip of a cable lock the ignition key is put in the locking cam pin ignition key, and then secure it with a washer and a stopper. At the same time, check that the cable lock selector lever secured to the locking lugs of the selector lever, as shown in Figure 3.112.

The procedure to verify the installation selector lever lock
When the selector lever is in position "P", then the brake pedal lock button on the lever can not be pressed (selector lever can not be moved from the position "P" to another position). Lock button works in the remaining positions selector lever (except "P").
If the brake pedal is depressed (pedal in the range 15-25 mm) when the selector lever to position "P", the lock button works without restrictions, and the selector lever moves smoothly from position "P" to another position.
If the brake pedal is released, the selector lever smoothly, without jamming is moved into position "P" from any other position.
The brake pedal must be moved smoothly in all positions, without jamming.
When the ignition key in position ?LOCK?, lock button on the selector lever is activated even when the brake pedal.
Ignition Key not turned to position ?LOCK?, when the selector lever is set to a position other than "P".
If the selector lever is set to "P", the ignition is turned to position ?LOCK? without binding.

Instructions for maintenance

Check the cable lock selector lever
Fig. 3.112. Check the cable lock selector lever

Gently pull the cable lock selector lever in the direction indicated by arrow "E" in order to create a gap of 2-4 mm between the locking cams ignition key and selector lever, and then lock nut outer sheath of the cable on the bracket. Then check that the gap corresponds to a range of 2-4 mm (see. Fig. 3.112).

NOTE
If this gap does not correspond to the range of 2-4 mm, depress the brake pedal more than necessary to allow the transfer of the selector lever position "P" to another position.

Check cable slack lock the ignition key.

NOTE
If the cable lock key ignition sags, the ignition key can not be removed from the ignition lock cylinder and the selector lever can be moved from the "P" to another position, even if the ignition is set to ?LOCK?.

The position of the locking lugs ignition key and selector lever
Fig. 3.113. The position of the locking lugs ignition key and selector lever

Before and after these procedures locking lugs ignition key and the selector lever should not be stationed in the same position, as shown in Figure 3.113.

NOTE
If locking cams ignition key and the selector lever is located in the same position, the translation selector lever out of position ?D?, ?3?, ?2?, ?L? in position ?P?, ?R?, ?N? with force can damage the respective parts.

Move the selector lever out of position ?D?, ?3?, ?2?, ?L? in position ?P?, ?R?, ?N? after turning the locking cam ignition key in the arrow "A" direction.
Move the selector lever out of position ?D?, ?3?, ?2?, ?L? in position ?P?, ?R?, ?N? after turning the locking cam gear lever in the arrow "A" direction when the pedal is depressed brake.

Installing a key interlock ignition
A situation may arise when the ignition key can not be removed from the ignition lock cylinder due to improper installation of the cable lock key. To prevent this situation, follow these instructions when carrying out maintenance.

Assembling the ignition cable and lock the ignition key
Lock assembly is mounted on the steering column. Install the ignition lock cylinder on the steering column lock into position ?LOCK?.
Connect a cable lock key to the ignition lock and secure the set screw.

Assembling the cable lock ignition key and selector lever
Set the selector lever to position "P".

The circuit connecting the cable lock key ignition
Fig. 3.114. The circuit connecting the cable lock key ignition

Connect a cable lock ignition key, as shown in Figure 3.114, then temporarily secure the outer braided cable nut (M8) so that the adjustment plate outer braid rope moving force retracting the latter.
Hold the tip of a cable lock ignition key and adjusting plate outer braid rope, move them in the direction of the arrow ?F?, so that the area "B" there was no bending or sagging of the cable.

NOTE
Do not pull the cable into the arrow ?X? direction to remove slack in the rope. This can lead to a situation where the ignition key can not be removed from the lock cylinder plug.

Tighten the nut (M8) fastening the cable lock key ignition.
