PERFORMANCE ORDER

If the radio in your car is equipped by a security code before to disconnect the battery negative cable, make sure that you know this code.

Mark the wires and terminals by using the numbered pieces of tape, then disconnect the wires from the coil primary circuit and wire explosives. Disconnect the coil assembly bracket and remove the assembly from the coil. Clean the outside casing of the coil and check for cracks or other obvious damage.
Strip the primary terminals of the coil and the coil terminal BB check for signs of corrosion. In the event of such, remove them with a wire brush.
Measure the resistance of the primary winding of the coil connecting wire ohmmeter to the positive and negative terminals. Compare results of measurements with data Specifications.

Check the resistance between the terminals of the primary winding of the ignition coil - coil must be removed from the engine compartment and moved to the bench, which ensures high-quality connection to its terminal wires ohmmeter.

Measure the resistance of the secondary winding of the coils, connect one ohmmeter lead to any of the terminals of the primary winding and the second - a large center (BB) coil terminal. Compare the result with the data of the Specifications.

Measuring the resistance between the positive explosives (secondary) terminals of the coil.

Really occurring values depending on the temperature of the coil may be slightly different from those in the Specifications (typical for a temperature of about 21 ?� C).
If the coil is not verified, replace it.

Replacement

Uncover the distributor (Head of Adjustment and routine maintenance). Take the screws and remove the wires from the primary terminals.
Give two screws and remove the coil from the engine compartment.

The ignition coil of the engine capacity 4.0 liters.
