Check of serviceability, removal and installation of fuel injectors



See. The warning at the beginning of Section Procedure dumping fuel pressure.

Check

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Start the engine and warm it up to normal operating temperature.
  2. When idling the engine for one turn off each of the injectors. While paying attention to changes in the engine idling speed. If the engine speed fall almost equally when disconnecting injector each of the cylinders, injectors in order and functioning properly. If disabling any of the injectors does not lead to a drop in engine speed, proceed to the next item on the procedures.

To disconnect the electrical connectors injectors need to give the nuts and lift the pipe laying harness.

  1. Turn off the engine Disconnect the electrical connector suspect injector and measure the resistance between the connector terminals (from the injector) (see.
  2. Resistance should be approximately 12.4 ohms. Otherwise, replace the injector.
  3. If the resistance of the injector lies within an acceptable range, you must use a voltmeter with a high impedance or a special warning lamp for checking the injectors harness (ask in shops of automobile accessories) (see.

Withdrawal

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Disconnect the negative wire from the battery.
  2. Relieve pressure in the system power supply (Section Procedure dumping fuel pressure).
  3. Disconnect the electrical connectors fuel injectors.
  4. Disconnect the vacuum hoses and the fuel pressure regulator (Section Check of serviceability and replacement of the fuel pressure regulator).
  5. Disconnect the fuel line all ground bus.
  6. Disconnect the fuel line from the fuel supply line.
  1. To disconnect the fuel line from the fuel line first release the safety clamp couplings, ..

... and then enter into a special compound made of plastic, the tool and undock the line by pushing the tool locking jaws.

  1. Give fixing nuts and disconnect the fuel line from the injectors.
  1. Remove the fuel line bracket located close to the fuel pressure regulator (shown engine displacement of 5.2 liters).
  1. Give bolts (arrows) securing the line to the inlet pipeline.
  1. Remove the fuel line from the engine compartment.
Bolts fuel line to the engine capacity of 4.0 liters.
  1. Remove the injectors from their nests in the intake manifold, remove from each of the injectors and discard the O-rings of three types.

When correcting the defects of even one of the injectors is wise to remove them all and replace all three types of rings on each.


  1. Remove the assembly from the fuel line clips injectors.
  1. Carefully remove the injector O-rings.

Setting

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Lubricate new ring (pillow-type) with pure impellent oil and insert them into the injectors.
  2. Lubricate the O-rings with pure impellent oil and put them on the injector (s), and then insert each of the injectors in their nest in the fuel line and install the fasteners.
  3. Coat the new O-ring seals with clean motor oil and place in the slot of the injectors in the inlet pipeline.
  4. Install the injector assembly to the pipeline at the inlet pipeline. Tighten the line with the required effort.
  5. Further installation is made in the reverse order of removal.
  6. After installation, the injectors / fuel line, turn the ignition switch ON, but do not turn the starter (this will lead to a two-second inclusion of the fuel pump and the rise of pressure in the fuel lines and highways). Repeat the inclusion of two or three times, and then check the fuel lines, highway and injectors for signs of leaks.
