Check the fuel pressure in the fuel system

The main indicator of health of the power supply system of the engine is a fuel pressure in the fuel rail.
With insufficient fuel pressure are possible:
- Unstable operation of the engine;
- Stop the engine idling;
- High or low engine speed to idle;
- Insufficient acceleration of the car (the engine does not develop full power);
- Jumps and dips in the engine when the vehicle is moving.
For starters we recommend to check the reliability of the electrical contact pads in the wiring harness assemblies injection system, responsible for the supply of fuel (fuel pump, injectors).
Check the fuel pressure in the fuel system
Check the fuel pressure in the fuel system is carried out using a pressure gauge hose to connect to the fuel line.
1. Turn on the ignition and listen: in a few seconds you should hear the sound of the fuel pump. If it is not heard, check the electrical power supply circuit elektrobenzonasosa.

A WARNING
Keep in mind that elektrobenzonasos not turn on if the system has a fuel pressure. In other words, if you have previously included the ignition and tried to start up the engine, the defective elektrobenzonasos have had to create pressure in the system and its failure to include in this case is not a malfunction.

2. Reduce the pressure in the supply system (see. "Reducing the pressure in the fuel system").
3. Connect a pressure gauge to measure the limit of not less than 5 kg / m 2 in a pipeline rupture from the fuel pump to the fuel line, connect the connector to the fuel pump wiring harness disconnected when the pressure and let the engine. When idling engine pressure in the pipeline should be at least 2.65 kg / cm 2
.
The possible reasons for the decline of pressure:
- Faulty fuel pressure regulator;
- Clogged fuel fine filter, filter or faulty fuel consumer elektrobenzonasos.
