Replace the thermostat



The need to replace the thermostat may occur when an unstable operation of the engine temperature: overheating or insufficient heating.
To check the thermostat on a cold engine start up the car and touched the bottom (outlet) radiator hose - it must be cold. After the temperature of the coolant reaches (82 ?� 1.5) ?� C, the hose must start quickly heat up, which indicates the beginning of the circulation of liquid in a large circuit. If not, remove the thermostat and test it.
You will need: pliers, face head "12" extender knob.
1. Disconnect a wire from the plug ?�-?� the storage battery.
2. Drain the engine cooling system (see. "Replacing the coolant").

10. To test the lower the thermostat in a container of water heated to 78-80 ?� C. Gradually heating the water, make sure the temperature of the beginning of opening of the thermostat valve.

NOTE
The thermostat of the cooling system is considered to be serviceable under the following conditions:
- The temperature of the beginning of opening the valve - (82 ?� 1.5) ?� C;
- Valve opening temperature of - 95 ?� C;
- Move the valve (full opening) - 8.5 mm.

11. Set the thermostat cover, clearing the mating surface of the housing and cover from the oxides and dirt.

HELPFUL ADVICE
Before installing the thermostat cover put on it a flange sealant.

12. Fill the coolant and remove air from the cooling system plugs (see. "Replacing the coolant").
