Transfer case



Overview

The transfer case is for sensing torque from the output shaft of the transmission and distribution of it between the wheels of the front and rear axles of the vehicle. Additionally, the box is equipped with two-stage gearbox, providing the possibility of movement in the step-up (2H and 4H) and lower (4L) mode. Manual transmission-equipped models on the transfer box can be set to neutral (N) mode, which allows to freely make emergency towing vehicle.

The transfer case assembly consists of an input, intermediate, rear output, and front output shaft placed inside a three-section aluminum body, the front cover is pribolchena directly to the transmission housing. In addition to the front cover of the housing transfer case consists of housing and cover of a chain drive of the front output shaft. Switching the transfer case is done by 4 (models with Manual transmission) / 3 (model AT) position of the lever is placed in the center console of the car behind the gear lever Manual transmission / selector AT - the lever is connected to rods with placed inside the crater of the transfer case Shift Fork.
