Clutch
Overview Assembling the clutch ensures smooth perception of torque from the engine flywheel and transmission of it to the gearbox output shaft, and a gap in the flow of power shift points. All Manual transmission-equipped models feature a single-plate dry-type clutch diaphragm spring. The hub friction (slave) clutch is equipped with longitudinal slots, meshed with the input shaft splines pins transmission. Friction clutch pressure plate and held in contact with each other due to the force exerted by the pressure plate diaphragm spring. Clutch is made hydraulically. Drive off of the clutch pedal is connected to the tank by GTZ (see chap. Brake System) master cylinder, trunks and slave cylinder through the clutch fork connected to the release bearing. When squeezing the clutch pedal in the path of the hydraulic drive pressure rises, the net impact of which is applied to the outer end of the plug off. By turning the plug rests fingers release bearing, which displaced, pressed against the petals of the diaphragm spring pressure plate clutch assembly. Arching, spring brings the push and the driven wheels of engagement, thereby interrupting the transmission of torque from the engine to the transmission. The design of the clutch used on petrol models The design of the clutch, used on diesel models When servicing the clutch, in addition to the replacement of components with obvious mechanical damage, it is necessary to make some initial checks (assuming that the transmission is in good condition) - The first thing to make check the fluid level in the reservoir of GTZ (see chap. Current care and maintenance). If necessary, make the appropriate adjustments by adding the required amount of fresh hydraulic fluid required class and inspect the system for signs of leaks. When the tank is empty the master cylinder to be removed from a hydraulic path of air pockets (see. Section Removal, service and installation of the executive cylinder drive clutch), then check the serviceability of functioning of the clutch;
- To estimate the time of switching the clutch, run the engine at normal idle speed. Make sure the transmission is in neutral and release the clutch pedal. Depress and, after waiting a few seconds, turn on the rear gear - switching should be accompanied by screeching and other extraneous noises, with a high degree of probability indicate a faulty clutch disc or clutch assembly;
- To verify the completeness of the clutch cock a lay brake and start the engine. Holding the clutch pedal at a height of about 13 mm above the floor, popereklyuchayte box between the first and reverse gear. The presence of noise when switching the lever a malfunction of components of the mechanism off. Rate pushrod stroke the clutch slave cylinder, - when pedal is fully depressed the plunger must be nominated by an appreciable amount, otherwise, check the hydraulic fluid level in the reservoir GTZ;
- Perform a visual inspection of the axle bushings at the top of the clutch pedal. Make sure of absence of signs of jamming and excessive backlash axis;
- From under the car, check the reliability of fixing the clutch fork on the finger of a spherical support.
