Circuit breakers

Location of the fuse box under the dash on the driver side

To protect the electrical circuits used fuses and fuse jumper. The fuse box is located under the dashboard on the driver side (Fig. 13.2).
Each of the fuse protects your chain it belongs to a particular circuit is indicated on the fuse box cover.

Using tweezers when replacing a fuse
Fig. 13.3. Using tweezers when replacing a fuse

The fuse installed blade type fuses, the color of which corresponds to a current protection fuse. In the event of failure of any item of electrical equipment, we should first check the fuse. The fuse is determined by the presence of the wire conductor connecting contacts of the fuse. To replace a failed fuse switch off the corresponding electric chain and remove the fuse from the nest tweezers (Fig. 13.3).

A WARNING
It does not replace the fuse strip of metal or foil, as it can cause serious damage to the electrical equipment of the vehicle.

If newly installed fuses instantly fails at pressure giving, check the protected circuit. If the safety lock protects some chains, they must be connected in turn to a blown fuse on the defective circuit.
Heater and air conditioner consumes a large current, so the fuse box has a switch to protect their chains. If the circuit breaker opens, turn off the heater and air conditioner before you press the restart switch.

Fusible link
In addition to the fuses, electrical circuit protected by a fuse jumper. They are used in circuits that are not usually protected by fuses, such as a circuit breaker switch. Fusible jumpers used in these models consist of special wires, which are mounted in block fusible jumpers located on the wing of a vehicle from the battery. Fusible link can not be recovered, they should be replaced by a wire of the same diameter (available from dealers Mazda). Replacing the fuse wire jumpers as follows:
- Repair, which is caused by the melting of the bridge;
- Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery;
- Remove the fused jumper wire from the socket;
- Establish a new nest in the fusible link.
