Checking the oil level in an automatic transmission

For the normal functioning of the automatic transmission is extremely important to follow the prescribed oil level. Therefore inspection should be carried out with great care.

The core gauge to check is in the engine compartment. It is filled with gear oil brand as ATF.

The oil level can be checked in a cold (30 ? C) and heated to operating temperature (about 80 ? C) transmission.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Park the car on a level surface.
2. Leave the engine running for about 1-2 minutes at idle. Set lever selective choice in "P" position, pull the lever manual parking brake.
3. Start the engine and during the test run it at idle.
A warning

At too low oil level is clearly audible, as the air is sucked into the oil pump. Because of this, the oil foams that can when checking the oil level lead to an incorrect result. In this case, stop the engine and after about two minutes, add a little oil, then again when the engine is running, check the oil level.

4. Open the lever of the locking device (6) and remove the dipstick.
5. Wipe the dipstick lint-free cloth, and the best skin, and insert into the open hole of the lock assembly until it stops.
6. Pull the dipstick and read the oil level. The fluid level must be between the "min" and "max" the appropriate temperature range.
7. Cold transmission (transmission oil temperature about 30 ? C) temperature range of valid "30" for heated to operating temperature gearbox (transmission oil temperature 80 ? C) temperature range of valid "80" on the dipstick.

A warning

Too little or too much oil adversely affect the operation of the automatic transmission.

8. The old oil left on the dipstick, check both the appearance and smell. Scroched friction linings cause a burning smell. Contaminated oil can cause malfunctions in the control transmission.
9. If necessary, top up ATF (the abbreviation ATF (Eng.) Stands for "automatic transmission fluid"). Use this to clean the funnel (050) and a sieve (mesh filter with fine mesh). All admitted ATF-oil can be mixed together. Do not use extra lubricant.

A warning

Pour too much oil. Too much oil can cause malfunction of the automation. In each case the need to drain the excess amount of oil.

You can only use ATF-oil plant prescribed.

10. Without casting ATF-oil in the torque converter in the automatic transmission can not start the engine and the car can not be towed. Depress the foot brake and slowly switch lever to all positions of the selective choice. Then recheck the oil level.
11. Fully insert the dipstick and lock lever locking device.
