  13. Remove the front cylinder head cover (see. Above).
  14. Remove the water pump (see chap. System of cooling, heating and air conditioner).
  15. Remove the steering pump drive pulley (44), - retention of the pulley against rotation may be effected by crimping temporarily installed in place of the drive belt.
  16. Otboltite bracket (47).
  17. On models without K / remove an arm (46b). On models with K / remove the brackets (46) and (46a).
  18. Remove the steering pump (45) and move it to the side without disconnecting the hydraulic lines.
  19. Provernuv the crankshaft in the normal direction, bring the piston of the first cylinder in position of 20-30 ? after TDC (see. Arrows in the figure 5.7b).
  20. With the help of locking rods (01) fix the camshafts.
  21. Marker, mark the position of the gas distribution chain regarding the asterisks of camshafts (75 and 76).
  22. Remove the chain tensioner (14).
  23. Remove exhaust sprocket (76) and the inlet (75) camshaft.

Stars bolts must be replaced without fail.

  1. Remove the intake shaft assembly from the regulator.
  2. Remove the chain guide pins (11).

When installing studs put on a sealant.

  1. Remove the bolts (A) securing the timing cover to the cylinder head.

Screws are equipped with heads of type TORX.

  1. Remove the drive belt pulley assembly with an integrated vibration damper (95).
  2. Mark marker bolts timing cover.
  3. Turn out fixing bolts and remove the cover (65), - try not to damage the head gasket.
  4. Replace radial seal in crankshaft (see. Section Replacement of a forward epiploon of a cranked shaft).
  5. Carefully smooth out interfaced surfaces of a cover and crankcase.
  6. Replace O-rings (66).
  7. Lubricate the mating surface of the lid sealant, making sure that the latter did not get into the oil reservoir (65a) of the gas distribution chain.
  8. Installation is in the reverse order - when installing the chain cover, pull up the slack completely by selecting it on the bottom. Track, that all fixture has been tightened with demanded effort.
