Replacement of a forward epiploon of a cranked shaft

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Details of the installation of the front crankshaft oil seal on the 612 series engines are shown in the illustrations, which include all the links in the text.
  2. Remove the accessory drive belt (1).
  3. With the help of a special device (2), lock the flywheel / drive disk.
  4. Remove the vibration damper / pulley drive belt (6) (see. Section Removing and installing vibration damper / pulley drive belt).
  5. Having hooked a screw-driver, remove the old seal (8) from its landing nest, - try not to damage the sealing surfaces.
  6. Installation is in the reverse order - for planting oil seal, use a mandrel (9).

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Details of installation of the front end cap / front crankshaft oil seal on the 628 series engines are shown in the illustration, which includes all the links in the text.
  2. Open the hood and fix it in an upright position.
  3. Remove the vibration damper / pulley drive shaft (3) (see. Section Removing and installing vibration damper / pulley drive belt).
  4. Remove the mounting bolts (5) and remove the front end cap (6) of the engine.
  5. Having hooked a screw-driver, remove the seed slot in the cover of the old seal (4).
  6. Carefully smooth out interfaced surfaces of the end cap and the engine block.
  7. Apply sealant and install the end cap on the regular place.
  8. Using a suitable mandrel plant cover in a new oil seal.
  9. The further installation is made in the reverse order of dismantle of components.
  10. Finally, start the engine and check for signs of leakage from the front oil seal.
