Checking the brake booster

1 - Vacuum hose
2 - brake pipe
3 - The main brake cylinder
4 - a brake fluid reservoir

The pressure of the driver's foot on the brake pedal is amplified by an amplifier brakes due to the use of vacuum arising in the intake manifold of the engine. In the diesel engine is necessary for this purpose, the vacuum created by a vacuum pump, fitted on the motor flange. The work of the brake booster is necessary to check if the vehicle is required to inhibit excessive force applied to the brake pedal.

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Press the brake pedal when the car stopped at least five times. Then, while pressing the pedal, start the engine. The pedal at the same time must be significantly under the foot to move the driver.
2. Otherwise, open the hood and remove the driver's side of the brake booster. Brake Assist is located in the engine compartment directly on the bulkhead.
3. Disconnect the vacuum hose (1) from the brake booster. Start the engine. With a finger on the end of the vacuum hose, check whether there is a vacuum.
Diesel engine: Disconnect the vacuum hose from the vacuum pump and check vacuum hose connection point.
4. If there is no vacuum, check the tightness of the hose and the presence of its damages, if necessary replace the hose.
5. If there is a vacuum, measure its value, if necessary, replace the amplifier (work HUNDRED).
