Replacement pads front disc brakes



Use the brake pads recommended by the manufacturer. Refer to Section Acquisition of spare parts Introduction.

If the brake pads will be used again, when removing the need to mark them. Transferring the brake pad from the outside to the inside and vice versa or from the right to the left wheel is not allowed. Always replace all brake pads of one axis at a time, even if the wear limit has reached, only one of them.


Withdrawal

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Mark a paint position of the front wheels relative to the hub. This allows the assembly to establish balance the wheel in its former position. Loosen the wheel bolts before jacking the car. Lift the front of the car, put it on supports and remove the front wheels.

Operation lifting and car installation on supports is connected with danger! Therefore, prior to the operation to check out the Poddomkrachivanie and towing Introduction to management.


2. Right brake: Pull the plug (1) wear of the connector. You do not pull on the cable (2). Disconnect (3) Wear of the holders.

3. Remove the bolts (4) on top and bottom.

4. Remove the caliper (1) of the calliper.

5. Fix a support strip (2) or wire on an amortization rack. It does not disconnect the brake hose. Otherwise, after the installation will have to remove the air from the brake system. Make sure that the hose is not stretched.

Do not press on the brake pedal when removing the caliper. Otherwise, the master cylinder piston is forced out of the housing. If the piston was accidentally squeezed, remove the caliper and turn to the service station to be built.


6. Protection of the piston cylinder of the extrusion bar of wood (1).

7. Remove the brake pads (2) of the guide.
8. If you apply the brake pads removed, mark them ("inner", "outer"). Thus, they can be installed on the Buda original location.


Check

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Clean the sliding surface and the landing brake pad on the guide wire brush made of light metal, as well as the brake disc, wipe with a cloth soaked in alcohol. Do not use for this purpose mineral solvents or tools with sharp edges.

To clean, use only brake alcohol.

2. Before installing the brake pads Check the brake disc with your fingers on the presence of the grooves. In the presence of the disc can be machined grooves (work HUNDRED) if the drive is still thick enough. Otherwise, replace the drive.
3. Measure the brake disk, as described in Section Checking the brake disk.
4. Check the retaining clips, if necessary, replace with new ones.
5. Check the mud cover of the piston for damage. Replace damaged cover immediately, as ingress of dirt can lead to infringement of tightness of a support. To do this, disassemble the caliper (work HUNDRED).
6. Check to see whether it follows from the piston brake fluid. If necessary, repair the caliper at the station, or replace it with a new one.
7. Check the protective cover as a support and guide pin in the presence of damages replace.

With a large brake pad wear, check the ease of stroke. To do this, insert a piece of wood into a support and ask an assistant slowly depress the brake pedal. The piston must be easy to be pressed and squeezed. To check to be inserted another brake pads and caliper opposite. In severe course replace piston caliper.


8. Right brake: Remove the connector on the brake pad wear indicator (1). Damaged wear replaced. (2) - plug wear.


Setting

1. Press the brake piston using tool. This can also be done by using solid wood bar rock (hammer handle). At the same time, pay special attention to the fact that the piston Skewing and not to damage the protective cover.

By clicking on the piston from the cylinder to the reservoir displaced brake fluid. Watch the liquid level in the tank, if necessary aspirate fluid from the reservoir.

To use a special fluid suction bottle or a plastic bottle, which is designed only for storing the brake fluid. Do not use for this purpose a bottle intended for drinking water! Brake fluid is poisonous and in any case should not be sucked mouth. Apply for this special suction device. After replacing the brake pads the brake fluid level in the tank should not exceed mark MAX, as fluid expands when heated. Leaking fluid gets on the brake master cylinder, it destroys the paint and leads to corrosion.

2. Insert the brake pads on the side at an angle in the retaining clips on the guide shoe. If you have already installed previously used pad, take care that they were installed on the former places.

On the friction surfaces of the brake disc and the brake pad should be a lubricant or oil.

3. Insert the support on its place in the calliper.
4. Screw a new self-stopped bolts top and bottom of the caliper and tighten to 25 Nm.
5. Right Brake: Enter the plug into the socket wear. Insert the wire wear in holders.
6. Replace the front wheels so that coincided marks put at removal. Preliminary grease with a thin layer of bearing grease centering the belt drive wheel on the hub. Bolts do not grease the wheels. Rusty bolts replace. Tighten the screws. Lower the car on wheels and tighten bolts cross-wise the moment of 110 nm.

Several times, press firmly on the brake pedal until it reaches a noticeable resistance. Thus, the brake pads are adjacent to the drive and take your position.

7. Check the brake fluid level in the tank, if necessary, add a liquid to a mark MAX.
8. New brake pads carefully burnished. To do this a few times brake the car to a speed of 80 km / h to a speed of 9 km / h, pressing lightly on the brake pedal. Between braking allow the brake to cool down. The first 200 km of traffic do not apply without the need for a strong braking of the car.

In some regions, the brake pads must be disposed of in a special way. The local authorities provide information about the possibility of disposal of special waste.

1. Using the tool squeeze both pistons. This can also be done using a hammer handle.

2. To avoid grinding disc brakes reverse side brake pad and back plate sides (arrows in the illustration) can be lubricated with a thin layer of brake paste (for example, high copper paste, Plastilube, Liqui Moly LM-36 and LM-508-ASC ). In no case the paste should not get to do the brake pads or brake disc. If necessary, the paste should immediately remove and wash the alcohol.

3. Remove the wear of the old brake pads and insert the new pads. If there is damage to the sensor must be replaced.
4. Insert the brake pads in the caliper. If the former are set in the pad, make sure that they got to their former places.
5. Insert the cable into the socket wear at the caliper. Route the cable in accordance with its track.
6. Install the new molded spring and put the new pins using a punch. Knockout hammer until it stops.

Shaped spring pins and be sure to replace with new ones.

7. Replace the front wheels so that coincided marks put at removal. Preliminary grease with a thin layer of bearing grease centering the belt drive wheel on the hub. Bolts do not grease the wheels.
